Israeli Officials Say They ‘Got Played’ by The Obama-Biden Regime in Hamas ‘Cease-Fire’ Talks

Israeli officials say they were tricked by The Regime, accusing it of not letting Israel know of the details of a “cease-fire” proposal the terrorist group Hamas announced Monday that it had agreed to.

This from westernjournal.com.

Following a Hamas mortar strike into Israel from Rafah, Israel launched military action against Rafah, the last stronghold of Hamas in southern Gaza.

Fox reported:

On Monday, a Hamas mortar attack from Rafah killed four Israeli soldiers.

Further from Fox:

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that after Rafah was used as the base for that attack, Israel had no choice but to move forward.

The Hamas announcement of a cease fire came as The Obama-Biden Regime denied the Israeli claim of the Hamas’ mortar strike.

According to Axios:

Citing Israeli officials it did not name, Israel was not given the text of a deal proposed by Egypt and Qatar until after the Hamas announcement.

NBC reported Monday:

[T]he proposal includes the release of 33 hostages taken by Hamas in the terrorist attack on Israel on Oct. 7 and a 40-day halt in the fighting.

What? According to the math reported in a Def-Con News April 24, 2024, article, 126 captives should now be alive in Hamas’ captivity.

USA Today reported:

An Israeli delegation was not involved in the negotiations for the proposal in Cairo.

As The New York Times reported Monday:

In fact, Hamas did not ‘accept’ a cease-fire deal so much as make a counteroffer to the proposal on the table previously blessed by the United States and Israel—a counteroffer that was not itself deemed acceptable but a sign of progress.

According to Axios, two Israeli officials said:

Israel got played by the U.S. and mediators who drafted a new deal and were not up front about it.

Further from Axios:

The Israeli side said ‘the proposal had many new elements that were not part of the last deal Israel had approved,’ with one official saying, ‘It looked like a whole new proposal.’

Axios cited a senior U.S. official as having said:

[T[here was no double-dealing.

Further from U.S. officials:

American diplomats have been engaged with Israeli counterparts. There have been no surprises.

However, CIA director Bill Burns arrived in Cairo on Friday to join Egyptian mediators in their efforts to reach a hostage and ceasefire deal. CIA involvement should be all we need to know about The Regime’s absence of transparency to the Israelis.

NOTE: Burns’ trip reflects the pressure The Obama-Biden Regime “is under to get a deal as soon as possible and signals that it sees the current moment as a critical point in the negotiations.”

More from U.S. officials:

This is an extremely difficult process with negotiations conducted through intermediaries in Doha and Cairo.

The core of the issue is that Israel fears The Obama-Biden Regime has assured Hamas that a deal to release hostages will directly lead to the end of the war.

According to Axios, one senior Israeli official said:

We think the Americans conveyed the message to Hamas that it will be OK when it comes to ending the war.

Israel’s position has been that the deal and the end of the war are separate.

According to Axios, Hamas chief negotiator Khalil al-Haia told the news site Al Jazeera:

Hamas received assurances from the Egyptian and Qatari mediators that … Biden is committed to ensure that any hostage deal is fully implemented.

A report in the Times of Israel said:

[W]hen the Hamas-backed deal was reviewed, it was lacking Israel’s key points, which led to a decision to move forward with the operation to attack Rafah.

Israeli officials called the Hamas announcement:

[A] ruse to make Hamas appear willing to settle while Israel would be painted as refusing the deal.

According to Fox News:

Amid the diplomatic dueling, Biden called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday to warn him not to attack Rafah.

UPDATE:

Republican Senators Joni Ernst and Ted Budd just returned from Israel and in a letter to Biden Tuesday they demanded answers and details about a delay of congressionally approved ammunition to Israel.

We are shocked that your administration has reportedly decided to withhold critical ammunition to Israel.

You promised your commitment to Israel was ironclad. Pausing much-needed military support to our closest Middle Eastern ally signals otherwise.

We are deeply concerned that your administration failed to notify Congress about this decision.

Just one month ago, Congress passed a national security supplemental to provide military assistance to Israel. In October 2023, Biden had stated the funding package was imperative to ‘provide the necessary security assistance to Israel [and] support Israeli efforts to secure the release of the hostages.

The Senators’ letter continued:

On April 24, you signed the national security supplemental into law and promised that you ‘will always make sure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself against Iran and terrorists it supports.’

If these reports [of withholding ammunition] are true, then you have once again broken your promise to an American ally.

Senators Ernst and Budd demanded answers and details about the delay of congressionally approved ammunition to the longtime ally.

They concluded:

We call on your administration to immediately restart the weapons shipments to Israel today as it continues to fight Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and other Iran-backed threats.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman is also blasting the move.

Final thought: The tyranny and unconstitutional behavior of Obama and Biden are ceaseless and must be stopped for the good of the world.
