Have you ever screamed in the face of a Republican politician as he or she was trying to enjoy a meal at a restaurant? Have you ever angrily tweeted that the NRA is a terrorist organization that kills children? Have you ever blocked traffic because you think normal everyday things are racist? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, one liberal kook would like you classified as a veteran, the same as those brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom. A liberal writer wants Social Justice Warriors to carry the same privilege and esteem as our nation’s military veterans because, as I said, he’s a liberal kook.
Dr. Warren J. Blumenfeld is an LGBT and “social justice” writer and he may also be some kind of a doctor since he uses “Dr.” in front of his name. He wrote a piece for LGBTQNation in which he asked the question: “Is it time to expand the definition of ‘veteran?’”
Spoiler alert: He does think it’s time to expand the definition of a veteran. This whole thing starts with Blumenfeld’s eye-opening experience at the vet:
I took my dog to our veterinarian for a yearly check-up examination. Afterwards, we stepped to the reception desk to pay our bill. Just ahead of us, the medical technician informed a man paying for his dog’s medications that his bill included a 10% price reduction since he was a military veteran.
OMG!!! A vet received a discount at the vet? This cannot stand! Blumenfeld thinks if people who served in the military get discounts, that it should be extended to people who hate America (AKA SJWs).
The problem, as Blumenfeld sees it, is basically white men. I’ve never seen a picture of this guy, but I’m pretty sure he is also a white man:
Therefore, the symbolic and literal narrative of our nation’s capital speaks only part of our collective story. The fulcrum on which the foundation of this narrative rests represents an important, though incomplete, story primarily about white male leaders with armed conflict as the organizing principle.
And the solution to celebrating all of those great things white men have actually done for our country is to recognize the contributions of whiny leftist maniacs:
Can we as a nation begin now to consider expanding the category of “veteran” to include the diplomats and the mediators, those working in conflict resolution, and activists dedicated to preventing wars and to bringing existing wars to diplomatic resolution once they have begun? What about the practitioners of non-violent resistance in the face of tyranny and oppression?
Just in case you aren’t sold on this idea, Blumenfeld wants you to know that SJWs are the real patriots:
But true patriots and veterans are also those who speak out, stand up, and put their lives on the line by actively advocating for justice, freedom, and liberty through peaceful means.
Veterans are people who literally put their lives on the line to protect our freedom. They represent and serve the entire country. SJW’s represent and serve a decidedly anti-American leftist agenda. They burn American flags. They hate the US government and economy. They want to see our sovereignty destroyed. They deal exclusively in threats of violence and death against people who think differently than them. See the difference?
In answer to Blumenfeld’s question if we should start treating whacko leftist agitators the same as veterans, that’s a hard “no” from me. Not only shouldn’t SJWs be considered veterans, they should be labeled terrorists and enemies of the American people. If they want to be recognized for contributing to society, they should actually contribute something to society instead of working to dismantle it.
