This is just the kind of out-of-the-box thinking that makes liberals the most insane people on the planet. A group of unattractive and out-of-shape lefty women did a nude photo shoot to get you to vote for democrats in next week’s midterm elections. How does this inspire people to vote for the donkeys? I have no idea. My brain is wired for commonsense. Making this even more bizarre, one of the stated purposes of this is to support the #MeToo movement. You know, it’s a counter-sexual-harassment-by-getting-naked kind of thing.
Don’t worry, I will not post any picture that is so horrifying that you can’t unseen it. If you must, Seven Days has the full pictures, but view at your own risk. In any case, here’s what this is all about:
A diverse group of 10 Vermont women gathered over the weekend to create an edgy get-out-the-vote campaign urging participation in the upcoming election.
Unhappy with the direction of the country, the women of varied shapes, sizes, ages and backgrounds bared it all for an intimate, empowering photo session in Burlington, said organizer Dawn Robertson.
“How can we inspire women to vote after the Kavanaugh confirmation, the #MeToo movement and Trump? It’s a culmination of all those factors,” said Robertson.
Well, that explains nothing, especially how this will inspire women to vote. I have a few theories, which I will get to soon, but first check out the funniest thing about this:
Robertson was inspired by Massachusetts photographer Anja Schütz, who shot similar nude photos of women in the lead-up to the 2016 election, around the time the infamous “grab ’em by the pussy” Donald Trump tape was released. Both photo projects play off Trump’s crass comments. Robertson’s, which she dubbed “Grab Them by the Ballot,” features women of color, a pregnant woman, a transgender woman and a woman with disabilities.
Does this kook remember what happened in the 2016 election? In case she forgot, Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton. Clearly the 2016 photo shoot of naked ugly women didn’t help the liberal cause, so why does Robertson think it will suddenly work in the 2018 midterm elections?
As if this isn’t already ridiculous enough, there is this:
Z, a 28-year-old trans woman who asked to be identified only by her first initial, said she participated in part to protest President Trump’s continued assault on the trans community, including a proposed federal policy that would define gender based on the genitals with which a person is born.
“I want to bring awareness to the existence of trans people and the variety in our bodies. To show I exist, this is me, I’m here, I’m a woman, I’m transgender. With everything that’s going on, I just think it’s really important to be visible,” said Z.
Well, no. This transgender person is most certainly not a woman.
The news was no help in explaining how this will get people to vote for democrats. The project also has a Facebook page that sheds no light on this as well as an Instagram account that I refused to visit because I fear it will be more pictures I don’t want to see.
Anyways, I have a few theories on how these unattractive women think getting naked will deliver the votes for the democrats. The first is that maybe they are going to offer to put their clothes back on if people vote blue. This would be a solid plan except nobody has to look at them. We can all simply not look at their pictures, without having to vote for democrats, which is really the best of both worlds if you think about it.
Next, maybe these kooks think that these shocking images will traumatize people and cause some kind of PTSD that will render them confused as they head to the polls. I’ve actually looked at some of these pictures and I have to admit I’m feeling uneasy, but I still intend to vote a straight Republican ticket next Tuesday. Well, as much as I can. I’m in California and for a lot of races there isn’t even a Republican to vote for, just two democrats.
My last theory is that liberals are all insane and do stupid and pointless shit that can’t possibly affect they outcome they expect. I feel like this is the most likely explanation for this absurd project.
