This country is screwed if liberals are to be believed. According to one Newsweek writer, nearly everyone who owns an AR-15 is a mass murderer. With approximately 30 million AR-15s in private hands, that adds up to a serious body count that would wipe out every single person in America many times over. The good news here is that Newsweek is even less credible than CNN and this is all a complete load of crap. Once again fake news saves the day.
We have to take a little journey to get this AR-15 nonsense, but there’s a lot of hilarious stops on the way. This starts out with California Rep. Eric Swalwell writing an op/ed earlier this year in which he proposed that the government ban and confiscate all “assault weapons” under the guise of a mandatory buyback program. A patriotic American tweeted at the democrat that gun owners would would oppose this unconstitutional proposal and Swalwell threatened to literally nuke any dissenters. Here’s that tweet exchange:

Swalwell got dragged hard for threatening to use nuclear weapons to kill millions of law-abiding Americans and so he made matters worse with this follow-up tweet:

Let’s drag him little bit more, shall we?
1) He left out the “mandatory” part of his buyback plan. Gun buybacks are voluntary and involve people trading in broken firearms in exchange for Target gift cards. Making them mandatory is a gun confiscation.
2) The point of the 2nd Amendment is so that if the government tries to oppress the people they have the means to fight back.
3) He threatened to nuke gun owners without a hint of sarcasm.
4) He threatened to nuke gun owners for not complying with his unconstitutional plan. That makes him a tyrant.
5) After threatening to kill millions of people if they don’t comply with his plan, he complains that there’s been no progress in the gun control debate.
Swalwell also tweeted this response to the gun-owning patriot who started this thing in the first place:

Which brings us to Newsweek writer Nina Burleigh, who jumped to Swalwell’s defense:

She just called almost every AR-15 owner a mass murderer and yet it’s those few non-mass murderer AR owners who are paranoid? Also, how many gun owners of any kind do we think this anti-gun liberal knows? I’m guessing it’s somewhere in the neighborhood of zero.
There is no hard data on how many AR-15s are in private hands in the US, but based on manufacturing numbers it’s reasonable to estimate there are upwards of 35 million of them out there. Burleigh claims that most of these are in the hands of mass murderers so we’ll be kind and say 30 million AR-15s are ready to be used in a mass shooting. The bare minimum number of fatalities to qualify as a mass shooting is 4. 4 times 30 million equals is 120 million, which is already a shocking body count, but it would be much more.
Liberals tell us that AR-15s are extra-super lethal and designed to kill as many people as possible. Taking the mass shootings in which an AR-type weapons was used, the average number of victims is 31.8, which we’ll round up to 32. 32 times 30 million is 960 million or approximately 3 times the population of the United States. If Burleigh’s claim is accurate, we are talking an extinction event and in actuality, a triple-extinction event.
Like I said, thank goodness liberals are so full of shit. The truth is the AR-15 is the most popular rifle in American and is almost never used to commit crimes. Rifles of any kind are used in so few murders each year it is statistically insignificant.
