John Kasich is Ohio’s outgoing governor and a former Republican candidate for president. He kind of looks like a low-rent Bond super-villain but it’s his Republican in name only status that sunk his 2016 presidential dreams. For some reason GOP voters found his anti-gun/pro-illegal immigration positions to be undesirable. No worries, Kasich is “seriously considering” running in 2020 as a third-party candidate and for some reason he’s in awe of the 130-year-old electric car technology.
Kasich was on ABC’s This Week and was asked if after two failed presidential runs he was considering a third.
“These are earnest conversations that go on virtually every day with some of my friends, with my family. We need different leadership. There isn’t any question about it,” said Kasich.
I bet he’s lying about having friends. He seems like an insufferable asshole that people don’t want to be around.
Kasich detailed what he feels is a lack of leadership by slamming President Trump for, “the tone and the name-calling and the division in our country and the partisanship.” He also complained about he booming economy, Trump’s “America first” policies, and a lack of immigration reform.
Then Kasich laid out a scenario for 2020 in which Trump is the GOP candidate and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren was the democrat’s crazy horse. He said this would leave “an ocean of people” in the middle and led to Kasich admitting he’s finally leaving the Republican Party:
“Is there a legitimate opportunity for a third party, bipartisan kind of ticket to be able to score a victory or to have a profound impact on the future of American politics?” Kasich said.
No, there is not a legitimate opportunity for a third-party candidate, because third-party candidates don’t do shit in national elections. Sometimes they siphon just enough votes away from one of the two major party candidates, but generally they just waste time and money losing. With Kasich being so unappealing to people on all sides of the political spectrum, he’d have an opportunity to do worse than a Green or communist party loser, which would be pretty funny to see.
Kasich tried to make a case that he actually would stand a chance in 2020 as third-party candidate with this ridiculous statement:
“No one thought a guy like Donald Trump would be elected president. No one thought we’d have electric cars,” said Kasich.
No one thought we’d have electric cars? When? During the Civil War? In 1884 Thomas Parker introduced the first practical electric car in England. 4 years later in Germany the Flocken Elektrowagen went into production. In 1897 the Electrobat II was all the rage in the US. At the turn of the 20th century there were 30,000 electric cars on the road.
I know John Kascih is old, but I didn’t think he was so ancient that he believes electric cars are some kind of new-fangled technology. Also, he’s wrong about nobody thinking Trump would be president. The Simpsons predicted and so did left-wing fatass Micheal Moore. The thing nobody actually thought would happen was a Kasich presidency and that widely-held belief has been 100% accurate.
Of all the crop of losers and weirdos throwing their hats in the 2020 ring, John Kasich stands the least chance of success. I think his attempt at third-party run will be a historic failure, but at least he appears to be leaving the GOP, finally putting an end to his conservative charade.
