Mikel Jollett fronts a terrible indie band called The Airborne Toxic Event. I’ve never heard of them before today, but apparently this group is mildly successful with a gold record, which means absolutely nothing in the digital music era. This isn’t a review of his garbage band however, it’s a critique of Jollett’s white self-hatred. In a series of tweets this white guy laid out his contempt of all other white people for no apparent reason. Maybe he just had the soy boy beta male version of PMS or perhaps he identifies as a minority. I don’t know.
Things started off with this unsolicited opinion:

Joliet was born in California and still lives there, so his claim of being an immigrant is a lie. It’s also factually-challenged that the migrants trying to storm our border “walked out of a war” as there are no wars currently going on anywhere near Central America.
Plus, what about the criminal immigrants? Is it okay t call the rapist and murderer immigrants “criminals” or is telling the truth racist?
Obviously this tweet opened Jollett up to some trolling and it was pretty funny:

Joliet got called out for the lie about being an immigrant so he tried to set things straight:

I have no idea about this guy’s wife, but there is no indication Jollett’s parents came from another country.

He’s sick of people with white privilege? He was born in Santa Monica, CA and grew up in a new-age hippy commune, which is the whitest thing anyone could possible do. He went to Stanford and ran on the track team which is close to the most privileged thing a person could do. He lives in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles which is a gentrified hipster mecca and the white privilege capital of the left coast. This guy literally is white privilege.
Mikel Jollett is a white man with privilege and he despises white people and white privilege. Changes are he doesn’t like beta males and shitty alternative bands too because clearly this is a low self-esteem issue. He is disgusted by himself and hates everything he is. Instead of lashing out at the rest of us, he needs to get some professional help to deal with his crippling emotional problems.
