It’s Christmastime and the political left has dreams of impeachment proceedings dancing in their heads but is it possible that they may be deluding themselves again?
With the House flipping over to Democrat control once the new year is ushered in and with the most radical of party members being handed the gavels to chair the committees from which the promised investigations will spring, Trump haters have all the reason to be singing joy to the world.
However, reality sometimes has a bad habit of intruding upon dreams and some legal experts are uttering the heresy that there is really no meat in the triple-decker nothingburger being served up by Dems and their avenger Robert Mueller.
Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz is questioning whether the Micheal Cohen deal with the special prosecutor that the left are giddy about is really just another mirage for a party that has been wandering in the political desert.
Dershowitz appeared on Fox to discuss the Cohen issue and threw cold water on the impeachment fantasies.

On “America’s Newsroom” Tuesday, Alan Dershowitz said Trump will not be impeached unless “massive new information comes out.”
He said when Special Counsel Robert Mueller eventually releases his report, it will contain “lots and lots of sins,” but nothing that is an impeachable offense.
“Remember, the Constitution requires treason, bribery, other high crimes and misdemeanors,” Dershowitz said, calling the case for campaign finance violations related to the payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal “very, very questionable.”
He noted that former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards was unsuccessfully prosecuted over a similar scandal in 2008.
“I don’t think we’re in impeachment land,” Dershowitz said. “I also don’t think president’s ought to be suggesting any kind of non-legal response to impeachment.”
Professor Dershowitz is an esteemed legal scholar and despite all of the media chatter and threats from the Democrats, there is still no impeachable offense against Trump who has been under the threat since the 2016 election.
With so little to build a case on, the Democrats are risking overreach and blowback that could very well cost them dearly at the ballot boxes in 2020.
But they can always dream.
