President Trump wants a wall built on the US/Mexico border to keep scumbags and criminals out. Liberals love scumbags and criminals as well as comparing everything Trump says or does to the Nazis. Liberals are also idiots so their “Trump is a Nazi” comparisons aren’t always the most historically accurate. Rapper Talib Kweli Greene tried equating Trump’s proposed border wall with the Berlin Wall, which he claims was built by the Nazis. Sadly Greene got a little company in his idiocy from pseudo-conservative Bill Kristol in comparing the border wall to the Berlin Wall.
First up is this moronic thing from a guy they tell me is a rapper:
So, you’re unaware of the fact that nazi Germany had a wall called the Berlin Wall that was torn down in 1991 in order to foster humanity and diversity? Walls didn’t work for Nazis so why build them here? Build bridges not walls Nazi lover. @thefeltyperro @jabbawa78 https://t.co/h3djzlRi4j

The Berlin Wall was built in 1961 by the communist East Germans to separate the city from the free West Germans. The Nazis were defeated in 1945, a full 16 before construction of the wall, and they had nothing to do with it. Nazi Germany never had a thing called the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was opened up in 1989 and for the 28 years it was operational, it worked out just fine, though not necessarily for the Nazis.
Greene managed to get everything in his tweet wrong, including comparing the Berlin Wall to a proposed border wall. The purpose of the Berlin Wall was to keep people in, while Trump’s wall would keep people out. The Berlin Wall was a like a prison wall, while the border wall would be like one around your yard to keep your asshole neighbors from crashing your barbecue.
The best thing about Greene’s idiocy is that he got absolutely dragged on Twitter and refuses to delete the tweet. He knows he’s 100% wrong and yet stands by it 100%.
Greene’s comparison is incredibly dumb, but somehow Bill Kristol’s is worse. Here’s what the former Weekly Standard editor-at-large had to say about it:
I’m aware a wall that keeps foreigners out is different from a wall that keeps one’s own citizens in. But I still can’t help but recall that a long time ago, in a conservative movement far, far away, we all thrilled to Ronald Reagan saying, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” https://t.co/FxeHaNsr9H

Kristol does manage to not credit the Berlin Wall to the Nazis, but it still doesn’t bring anything intelligent to his comparison. He says that there is a difference between walls that keep people in and walls that keep people out and then immediately conflates the Berlin wall with the border wall. If he knows the difference, why is he recalling President Regan’s words to tear down the Berlin Wall? The answer is because he thinks there is no difference between the two walls.
Greene was calling Trump a Nazi and Kristol is calling him a communist.
The real comparison that Kristol should be concerned about is between him and liberals. Real conservatives don’t think protecting our country from foreign invaders and preserving our national sovereignty is a bad thing like a brutal communist regime did. Liberals however feel exactly this way and so does Bill Kristol.
