Virginia Governor Ralph Northam Endorses Post-Birth Abortions

Recently New York passed a law allowing abortions right up until the baby is born, which is horrifying to say the least. Democrats in Virginia have introduced a similar bill that would legalize killing unborn babies a fraction of a second before they are birthed. Virginia’s governor Ralph Northam took it one step further by endorsing post-birth abortions. Normal people would call this murder, but according the the ghouls on the left, it’s a woman’s choice.

This started out this week when Virginia state delegate Kathy Tran introduced this vile abortion bill:

Horrifying, right? Well Virginia governor Ralph Northam said “hold my beer” and took this thing to new levels of terribleness. While appearing on a WTOP radio program, he was asked if he supports the bill to allow abortions even as the mother is giving birth.

“When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of obviously the mother, the consent of the physicians, more than one physician by the way and it’s done in case where there may be severe deformities. Maybe a fetus that’s not viable,” said Northam.

Now wait for the single worst thing a democrat has ever said about abortion:

“If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother,” Northam said.

Yeah, like I said, that’s called murder. He’s actually saying two terrible things at once here. First he’s saying that as the mother is giving birth the doctor could kill the baby on the way out and then he’s saying that once a baby is born, if the mother and doctor decide to kill the baby they could. That’s the Virginia governor saying that he supports post-birth abortion.

Up until this point it has been the left’s “liberal-science” opinion that a clump of cells passes through the birth canal and is magically transformed into a human being. Here Northam is saying that even after this magical journey, the baby is still a clump of cells and can be terminated.

In reaction to the outrage over the democrats’ evil abortion bill, Northam said, “I think this was really blown out of proportion.”

What is the proper reaction to democrats wanting to allow abortions right up to the point of birth? Or during birth? Or after birth, as Northam suggested? If anything, this has been blown under proportion, because obviously the liberal media is in the democrats’ corner when it comes to killing babies.

“But again we want the government not to be involved in these types of decisions. We want the decision to be made by the mothers and their providers. And this is why Julie, that legislators, most of whom are men by the way, shouldn’t be telling a woman what she should or shouldn’t be doing with her body,” Northam said.

His party is trying to pass a bill that allows for the killing of live-birth babies, which is the exact opposite of the government staying out of it. The problem here isn’t that women can’t make decisions about their bodies, it’s that women and doctors could make decisions about what to do with babies’ bodies and lives, namely killing them.

So if Northam now wants to allow post-birth abortions, what’s the cut-off time? How long after birth can a baby be killed? Are Northam or any of the Virginia democrats who support this bill eligible for an abortion if their parents and doctors agree it’s the best thing for everyone involved?
