Is ‘Empire’ Star Jussie Smollett’s Story Falling Apart?
Via PJ Media
Chicago police say they will be requesting more phone records from “Empire” star Jussie Smollett regarding the racist and homophobic attack he allegedly faced two weeks ago. Smollett has turned over heavily redacted phone records, but evidence has begun to emerge suggesting his story was fabricated. Rumors are swirling that police are even considering charging him with filing a false report.
On Monday night, Fox 32 Chicago anchor Rafer Weigel reported that police “received cell phone records today from Smollett’s camp. They were limited and redacted but detectives will analyze them.”
Weigel had previously reported that the police superintendent plans to hold Smollett accountable if the investigation reveals he made a false report. “[Chicago Police Superintendent] Eddie Johnson says [Jussie Smollett] is still being treated as the victim in this case but if the investigation does reveal he made a false report he will be held accountable,” he tweeted. That threat seems more likely.
Late Monday evening, ABC7 Chicago reported that an empty hot sauce bottle that smelled like bleach was found near the location of the alleged attack. Smollett had told police that the attackers — who wore “Make America Great Again” hats and screamed “This is MAGA country!” — had poured an unknown bleach-smelling liquid on him and put a noose around his neck after they yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him at 2 a.m. on January 29.
Chicago police confirmed a New York Post story about the hot sauce bottle.
“It’s unclear if that is related to the incident as it was not discovered during any of the earlier canvasses but we took it for analysis,” Chicago Police Department (CPD) spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. “The FBI is providing CPD with technical assistance on this case at our request. I’m not sure if the bottle went to their lab or one of ours.”

A mother was arrested in front of her children and locked up for seven hours after referring to a transgender woman as a man online.
Three officers detained Kate Scottow at her home before quizzing her at a police station about an argument with an activist on Twitter over so-called ‘deadnaming’.
The 38-year-old, from Hitchin, Hertfordshire, had her photograph, DNA and fingerprints taken and remains under investigation.
More than two months after her arrest on December 1, she has had neither her mobile phone or laptop returned, which she says is hampering her studies for a Masters in forensic psychology.
Writing on online forum Mumsnet, Mrs Scottow – who has also been served with a court order that bans her from referring to her accuser as a man – claimed: ‘I was arrested in my home by three officers, with my autistic ten-year-old daughter and breastfed 20-month-old son present.
‘I was then detained for seven hours in a cell with no sanitary products (which I said I needed) before being interviewed then later released under investigation … I was arrested for harassment and malicious communications because I called someone out and misgendered them on Twitter.’

The Green New Deal Is Simply A Delusional Excuse To Seize Power
Via The Federalist
The surprising thing is that there’s no organized media pushback, which hints at something far more rotten. In an ideal world, there would be journalists flocking and camping in front of every single Democratic presidential candidate’s office to constantly badger them about their support of this insane document, or for that matter, their lack of activism about (alleged) rapists and racists in Virginia.
The only thing visible is reluctance and obfuscation. When the supposed gatekeepers of society act as public relations agents for a certain specific ideology, no wonder it leads to a reaction. The rules of the game should be universal. The moment it is quite evidently not, people feel disillusioned, and there is a disconnect between the masses and the elites.
That is why this Green New Deal is a harbinger of something far more sinister. It goes without saying that no one in the Democratic Party and in the media and academic elites, other than hardcore ideologues, actually believe this is a plausible scenario. To fundamentally transform a society of more than 300 million people, to completely eradicate air travel and cars and retrofit every single home with green energy, to provide taxpayer-sponsored health care, education, food, and shelter for people, some of whom are simply are too lazy, privileged, and narcissistic to work, would entail a level of coercion that cannot be brought about by anyone other than an all-encompassing nanny state, facing zero resistance.
It is, put simply, a totalitarian endeavor.

Dems, Fearing Russia Collusion Investigation Will Come Up Empty, Now Attacking Robert Mueller
Via The Daily Wire
Democrats, increasingly worried that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether the Donald Trump campaign colluded with Russian officials to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election will reveal nothing, have started doing something they’ve long criticized President Trump for: lashing out at Mueller over his “limited” probe.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) kicked off a torrent of criticism on Sunday, according to the Washington Examiner, questioning whether “Mueller has adequately investigated President Trump’s financial dealings with a German bank,” and suggesting that Mueller’s investigation could be so woefully incomplete that the House has no choice but to resume investigating the president themselves.
“If the special counsel hasn’t subpoenaed Deutsche Bank, he can’t be doing much of a money laundering investigation,” Schiff said. “So that’s what concerns me, that that red line has been enforced, whether by the deputy attorney general or by some other party at the Justice Department. But that leaves the country exposed.”

The former head of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division on the government's prosecution of Maria Butina: “This is disturbing. The question is whether this is convenient ineptitude or something far deeper.”⁰ https://t.co/yFpeEAPTjL

The Russian Spy Who Wasn’t
By James Bamford
The government’s case against Butina is extremely flimsy and appears to have been driven largely by a desire for publicity. In fact, federal prosecutors were forced to retract the most attention-grabbing allegation in the case—that Butina used sex to gain access and influence. That Butina’s prosecution was launched by the National Security Section of the District of Columbia federal prosecutor’s office, led by Gregg Maisel, is telling in itself: According to a source close to the Mueller investigation, the special counsel’s office had declined to pursue the case, even though it would have clearly fit under its mandate.
Despite the lack of evidence against Butina, however, prosecutors—abetted by an uncritical media willing to buy into the idea of a Russian agent infiltrating conservative political circles—were intent on getting a win. In the context of the Mueller investigation, and in the environment that arose after Trump’s election, an idealistic young Russian meeting with influential American political figures sounded enough like a spy to move forward.
Butina told me her story over a number of long lunches starting last March at a private club in downtown Washington, D.C. She was always early, except on April 25, when she didn’t show up.
She later apologized; a dozen FBI agents had raided her apartment. “They knocked on the door, and that knock I will never forget,” she told me. “They pushed me inside, told me to sit down. I was completely in shock, but what could I do?” The agents searched her apartment for approximately seven hours, apparently looking for hidden transmitters or other evidence of spy-craft. “It was a horrible day in my life,” Butina said. The FBI found nothing, however. There was no mention of spy gear in her indictment, and there were no charges of espionage.
