As The Worm Turns

By Ben Garrison

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, (also known as ‘Occasional Cortex,’ or ‘Ocrazio,’) spoke out against billionaire Jeff Bezos, (also known as ‘Dr. Evil,’). We know that AOC despises rich people and especially considers billionaires to be ‘immoral.’

Yet her wormy outspokenness against Amazon bringing thousands of jobs to New York caused Bezos to lose his appetite for the Big Apple.

Yeah, I know we shouldn’t reduce her name down to an acronym similar to JFK or RFK. She doesn’t deserve such status, but her name is long so I will do it. AOC loves taxes. She couldn’t stand the fact that Bezos would get a sweetheart deal while paying little to tax-happy New York bureaucrats. I wonder if she considered how 25,000 newly employed and well-paid people would pay taxes, thus making up for it.

Regardless, ‘free stuff’ AOC is catching well-deserved flak for blowing the deal.

In her fantasy world, she did the right thing by thwarting a billionaire. In her mind, jobs can be created willy-nilly anyways and money does grow on trees. She also well deserves to be ignored, but she continues to garner millions of devotees, or as we like to call them, “useful idiots”.

Why is this? Because too many millennials now believe socialism is the way to go. This is why I’ve drawn so many anti-AOC cartoons. She’s the loud, bold, and ignorant face of socialism. Her militant ignorance must be opposed at every turn and I’m opposing her in cartoon form.

Socialists must not steal the Republic.

China Infiltrating U.S. Education System in Propaganda Coup

Via The Washington Free Beacon

The Chinese government has infiltrated nearly every sector of the U.S. education system via a package of programs and monetary schemes that seek to indoctrinate American children and bring the Communist government’s propaganda into the classroom, according to a new report by a Senate investigatory body.

The wide-ranging report by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has found that China has spent nearly $200 million on educational entities known as Confucius Institutes. These programs have been instated in U.S. schools across the country with the mission of indoctrinating students and painting a sympathetic portrait of the Chinese Communist government, according to the report.

The institutes are shrouded in mystery and have been the cause of much consternation on Capitol Hill and elsewhere as information about their reach and power in the United States becomes clearer.

While the programs appear on their surface to be mundane—mainly focusing on language and cultural issues—the Senate committee found that these institutes constitute a threat to the United States. The Chinese government, the committee found, “is attempting to change the impression in the United States and around the world that China is an economic and security threat.”

There are more than 100 Confucius Institutes currently operating in America—the most of any country—and China has plans to open many more, according to the report.

“As China opened over 100 additional Confucius Institutes in the United States over the last 15 years, the Department of Education remained silent,” the Senate committee warns in its report.

Gab Launches ‘Dissenter’ Platform to Add Comments Section to Every Page on the Internet

Via Breitbart

Free speech social network Gab has launched a new comments platform, Dissenter, which allows users to make comments on every single website on the Internet without fear of censorship or banning.

The Dissenter platform, which integrates with Gab as either a website or a browser extension, allows users to comment on any web page in the world, with the ability to upvote, downvote, and reply to other comments.

“Dissenter creates a free speech comment section for any URL on the web. Users can access comment threads on a URL by searching for the link on Dissenter’s web app at dissenter.com,” explained Gab founder Andrew Torba. “Alternatively, if users install the free and open-source Dissenter browser extension, users can see comments being made on any URL they navigate to displayed in a sidebar in their browser.”

“Dissenter.com thus extends Gab’s reach, and its free speech platform, across the entire internet. Anyone with a Gab.com account can access Dissenter, and utilize it to express themselves on any content on the internet in any way they see fit, as long as their chosen form of expression is legal in the United States,” Torba continued, adding that “Dissenter has become a necessary tool due to rampant corporate censorship of ordinary internet users, whether that takes the form of YouTube demonetizing millions of videos and removing comment sections, Facebook and Instagram banning British activist Tommy Robinson for his political opinions, or Netflix banning comedy shows at the behest of Saudi princes.”

“A free, open-source utility that allows people to dissent from orthodoxy and express what they are really thinking, without fear of reprisal, is essential in order to wrest control of the Internet and public discourse from Silicon Valley tech giants,” he concluded. “Gab.com and dissenter.com lead the way in keeping the Internet free. All people are welcome to use our products to express themselves freely.”

Gab wants to add a comments section to everything on the internet

Via CNET

Dissenter is a browser extension that lets users make comments on anything from Facebook pages to specific tweets and local news sites. Users can also up- and down-vote other comments. The comments are visible to anyone, but commenting requires a Gab account.

“This is basically adding a public square to every URL,” Gab CEO Andrew Torba said in a 20-minute Periscope video.

Gab didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

In the video, Torba walked through Dissenter and gave examples of places to leave comments. He also ran through the platform’s other functions, including a trending news ticker, which is a discovery feature he compared to Pinterest, and a random button that will surface different pages.

Dissenter comes at a time when platforms are struggling with how to manage what gets posted on their services. In February, YouTube disabled comments for tens of millions of videos and also booted more than 400 channels for the comments that had been left. YouTube also said it reported illegal comments to law enforcement.

In the video, Torba said he expected Dissenter would get banned from extension stores, but also said it’s possible to install it without getting it from Google. Torba also mentioned Gab might build its own browser in the future that has Dissenter built in.

Why Ocasio-Cortez Isn’t Amusing

By Sebastian Gorka

Hardly a day goes by without the new face of the Democratic Party, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), unconsciously giving the Right more ammunition to ridicule her so-called “policies.”

The latest was an SNL-like video she made in her kitchen cooking chili during which she berated America for the impending environmental apocalypse.

The inanity of her comments is stupefying enough. For example, she actually pauses to look at the camera and says: “If we do not act there is no hope. The only time we can hope is when we act.” But her Miss World contestant soundbites, are outdone by the shear irony of the whole film. Rush Limbaugh commented, as only he can:

And in this cooking video, everything she’s using is powered by fossil fuels! From her stove to her refrigerator. The food that she is making arrived in her kitchen after having been delivered for part of the route by fossil fuels.

Those would be the same fossils fuels Ocasio-Cortez wants to ban in America under her Green New Deal.

While theses gaffes and the memes to which they give rise are truly amusing, the humor of it all shouldn’t give the Right a sense of security. The New Green Deal is a socialist plan for the largest redistribution of wealth the world has ever seen, and it will cost you $93 trillion.

The GND is “watermelon policy”—green on the outside and deep red on the inside. It’s socialism under the cloak of environmentalism. What’s more, the proposal isn’t merely the collected ravings of a fringe freshman congresswoman. The Green New Deal has been endorsed by a slew of Democrat representatives and senators, including some who think they have a shot at being the next president, such as Kamala Harris (D-Calif.).

Transgender Athletes Who Compete Against Women Are Cheats

Via The Federalist

We don’t allow steroids in professional sports, so why should we allow genetic enhancement or alteration drugs in amateur sports?

There’s no crying in baseball. Tom Hanks told us that in “In a League of Their Own.” There’s also no cheating in sports. Allowing natural-born men to participate in women’s sports on the basis of gender identification is, in essence, cheating.

On February 16, two biological males who identify as transgender girls took first and second place in the Connecticut state open indoor track championships. The high school juniors, Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood, have captured both state and national accolades. Miller is the third-fastest runner in the country in the girls’ 55-meter dash. Yearwood trails, tied for 7th.

Here lies the problem: While those two students identify as women, their genetics reflect otherwise. In the purest form, sports should celebrate physicality: the natural female and male forms as they exist, not as they are altered through steroids or hormonal replacement. We don’t allow steroids in professional sports, so why should we allow genetic enhancement or alteration drugs in amateur sports?
