The Siren Song Of Socialism

SOCIALISM LURES THE YOUNG WITH FALSE PROMISES

Donald Trump recently stated that “seductive” socialism would send the country ‘down the tubes’ in a decade or less. He’s right, but many young people aren’t listening.

It is estimated that fifty percent of millennials want a socialist system. They are no doubt being brainwashed at universities and the Democrats themselves are moving toward outright socialism. I’m pushing back against this trend with my cartoons and it’s why I’ve drawn so many anti-socialism cartoons lately.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a young, callow politician and she’s has been installed to give socialism an energetic and fresh face. I say ‘installed’ because apparently she auditioned for the part and was picked for her acting ability and enthusiasm. She was backed by a socialist group who helped pave the way for her election.

The left now accuses the right of being sexist and/or misogynist for opposing attractive females who push socialism. These people include Kamala Harris, Tulsi Gabbard, and the new socialist star, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Here’s what some far-left rag said about me:

MAGA-loving cartoonist Ben Garrison couldn’t help himself either. In February, Garrison published an illustration of Ocasio-Cortez working as a bartender. While rendering her facial features grotesque, playing on the racist theme of the crazy, fiery Latina that Kelly and Stinchfield obsessed over, Ocasio-Cortez’s body was far more sexualized than Garrison’s other illustrations of women politicians. He drew Ocasio-Cortez in low-rise pants, revealing her navel and a flat stomach, and a cropped tank top that says “socialism is sexy” across a pair of perky, round breasts.

I already went through this with Obama. The right is not allowed to draw him without encountering cries of ‘racist!’ So naturally I get called that again because of AOC’s race. I’m not interested in her race and I don’t care that she’s female, but the left does and they constantly use ‘identity politics’ to push their socialist agenda and divide Americans.

The Slate recently published a similar screed accusing the right of ‘leering’ at her and being obsessed with her looks and attacking her from the ‘ugly corners’ of the Internet. Sometimes they call it ‘dark corners.’ OK, then…from my dark, ugly corner office somewhere in the Montana woods, I present to you a cartoon that really does highlight the female socialist form. I hope it will give the left something substantial to complain about.

Opposing socialism is not sexist or racist. No matter who promotes it, socialism always leads to suffering and death. It’s not a pretty sight.

We Fight Now Or The Socialists Win

The Democratic Party is no longer a political party; it has become a religion.  Its acolytes practice politics with every bit of the religious fervor of Islamic militants throwing a gay man off the roof of a ten-story building because Sharia tells them it’s what he deserves.  Make no mistake, every day, our new socialists fight for the right to do the same to us.

After driving two hours to vote against Sandy O, I was told my ballot would be challenged because my signature didn’t match from when I registered as a Conservative in 1976.  I offered to show ID, which only engendered anger.  ID is not allowed — too reminiscent of using Voter ID to weed out illegal voters.  Of course, the real reason for the challenge was the “C” next to my name.  The poll lady was not about to allow a conservative to vote.  If they were willing to do that in an election they were guaranteed to win, what will they do next year?

Democrats know Donald Trump will win in 2020 and are planning to cheat to deny him victory.  These new socialists are importing a new electorate through open borders and have proposed legislation to allow illegals the vote.  They stole seats in the midterms using ballot harvesting and miraculously appearing boxes of “uncounted” Democrat ballots and will do the same in 2020.

The midterms were a trial run for 2020.  The left is organized and prepared.

Whistleblowers Say NSA Still Spies On American Phones In Hidden Program

On Monday, March 4th, the New York Times reported that the National Security Agency has “quietly” shut down a controversial phone records surveillance program revealed by whistleblower Edward Snowden in 2013.

The claim was made by a senior Republican congressional aide who told the newspaper that the Trump administration had stopped using the program, which analyses the domestic call and text logs of American citizens, due to technical problems.

On Twitter Snowden hailed the news as a “victory”, while Intercept journalist Glen Greenwald, who broke the Snowden story to international acclaim, took the story at face value. Neither of them raised the obvious question – is the “shut down” of this program merely a smokescreen to continue spying on American phones under new or different secretive programs?

Since then, further doubt was cast on the NYT report when NSA chief General Paul Nakasone refused to confirm or deny the story. But he did tell a major security conference on Wednesday that the agency was still “in a deliberative process” about whether to use a revamped version of the vast database of American phone records.

All of this, however, is an elaborate ruse. According to two former top NSA officials interviewed by INSURGE, there is no credible reason to believe that NSA phone surveillance has truly been shut down.

What shut down?

When the NYT story broke, I reached out to two former senior NSA officials, Russ Tice and Thomas Drake, to find out what they thought.

Both of them told me that the NSA’s shut down of this particular program did not imply an end to domestic phone record surveillance, but quite the opposite — that the program had been superseded by superior technology.

The Second Coming of Beto O’Rourke

We all witnessed the death of Beto O’Rourke’s political career. “I will not be a candidate for president in 2020,” the Democrat said rather definitively after losing the Texas Senate race in November, and to most that was the end of it. But truly, he has risen again, so sayeth the Gospel of Vanity Fair.

In what can only go down as the most worshipful, reverential Beto profile of the twelve thousand or so we’ve seen so far, reporter Joe Hagan writes that the former congressman “can appear almost too innocent to be a politician—too decent, too wholesome, the very reason he became popular also the same reason he could be crucified on the national stage.” Wow, an innocent, decent guy who was crucified by people who didn’t deserve him! Quite subtle.

The other candidates might as well drop out now, because Hagan also lets us know that Beto is a child of destiny. “I’m Just Born to Do This,” the headline reads. “I’m just born to be in it,” Beto likewise says in the body. When noting that Beto owns presidential biographies, Hagan himself comments that “there’s some political poetry to it, a sense that O’Rourke might be destined for this shelf. He has an aura.” His potential announcement is a “possibly world-historical political event.”

Not only does Beto have an “aura” but “near-mystical” powers! His first miracle comes not at a wedding, but at a campaign rally, a moment where Hagan recounts that Beto and his wife “first witnessed the power of [his] gift.”

“I honestly don’t know how much of it was me,” he tells Vanity Fair. “But there is something abnormal, super-normal, or I don’t know what the hell to call it. Every word was pulled out of me. Like, by some greater force, which was just the people there. Everything that I said, I was, like, watching myself, being like, How am I saying this stuff? Where is this coming from?”

Our Bankrupt Elite: Operation Varsity Blues and the hypocrisy of Hollywood liberals

Every element of the college admissions scandal, aka “Operation Varsity Blues,” is fascinating.

There are the players: the Yale dad who, implicated in a securities fraud case, tipped the feds off to the caper; a shady high school counselor turned admissions consultant; the 36-year-old Harvard grad who sold his talents for standardized testing to the highest bidder; the comely actresses from Full House and Desperate Housewives; the fashion designer; the casino magnate. Who would have thought that one of the major headlines of 2019 would be “Lori Loughlin released on bond”?

There are the children: the social media influencer (yes this is a thing) who was told of her parents’ arrest while vacationing on the yacht of a USC trustee; the mom who submitted doctored photographs to USC to portray her son as a championship pole-vaulter; the place kicker for a high school with no football team; and the rap artist from the Upper East Side who defended his mom and dad to the press while smoking a blunt.

There are the means: paying tens of thousands of dollars to Rick Singer, Trinity ’86, who bribed athletic directors and coaches, doctored student résumés, and arranged for clients to take college admittance exams alongside a “proctor” who answered the questions for them. The icing on the cake: Some payments were made to a charitable foundation so the parents could get the tax write-off. What a country.

There is the objective: placement at a high-profile school. Why? Social signaling, status games, but also because the wage premium for a college degree has become so large that parents are apparently willing to break federal law to earn it.
