HERE IT COMES: Fauxahontas Backs Special Congressional Reparations Committee

Democrat presidential hopefuls continue to promote racial divisiveness as they launch their 2020 campaigns in the hope that tapping into simmering resentment will be electoral gold come next November.

It’s bad enough that candidates are all promoting radical socialist ideas like the Green New Deal, Medicare for all, free college tuition and a guaranteed basic income but the fringe idea of more free stuff in the form of reparations for slavery is rapidly becoming a litmus test.

Never mind that using the power of the state to punish those who never owned a single slave to reward those who never were slaves is immoral and wrong, the idea is a cynical effort to pander to a critical demographic that failed to show up for Hillary Clinton as they did for Barack Obama.

Even the media is now warming to this controversial idea and in the latest of their staged town halls, CNN featured Dem Senator Elizabeth Warren on Monday in front of a carefully picked audience at Jackson State University in Mississippi.

And it didn’t take long for one of the audience members to query Warren about when she may expect the first reparations check to arrive.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren gave her most detailed answer to date on the question of reparations for black Americans as a means of addressing centuries of slavery and legal discrimination.

In a CNN town hall on Monday night in Jackson, Miss., Warren became the first 2020 presidential candidate serving in the Senate to endorse a House bill that would create a commission to study reparation proposals.

“I love the idea of this congressional commission,” the Massachusetts Democrat said at Jackson State University, a historically black school. “I believe it’s time to start the national, full-blown conversation about reparations.”

The bill, which former Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) first introduced in 1989, was reintroduced by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) in January. “The commission would also make recommendations concerning any form of apology and compensation to begin the long-delayed process of atonement for slavery,” Jackson Lee said earlier this year.

Warren and most other 2020 candidates have cautiously approached the topic of reparations, wary of alienating voters by fully embracing the idea or being dismissive of it. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) has endorsed the concept but has not provided details. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) have not endorsed the idea but have said that robust steps must be taken to combat systemic racism.

While she stopped short of any actual promises, the woman who is affectionately referred to as “Pocahontas” by President Trump threw her weight behind the idea of a committee to study reparations that have been introduced by a bitter crackpot from the Congressional Black Caucus.

Senator Warren also showed that she is willing to exploit racial tensions for political gain by invoking slavery via Twitter:

It’s the ultimate in pandering to a small segment of a critical demographic that lives in the past, has a blind spot that Democrats were the bad guys during the period when slavery did exist and has come to blame others for their own personal failings.

There is also the possibility that embracing reparations could backfire on Democrats by angering those African-Americans who will quickly see through this charade and punish a party that continues to demonstrate that it believes that black people are stupid and will continue to support dishonest politicians and policies that have done them no favors.

Leave it to a faker like Warren to resort to selling this pig in a poke.
