In Des Moines Iowa on March 15, the temperature never got higher than 46 degrees. The low that day was 28 degrees. That’s pretty chilly. But it wasn’t cold enough for one man who decided to strip naked and roam the neighborhood, scaling rooftops, stealing a vehicle, and barking like a dog all the while.

Naked man climbs roof, steals SUV, leads police on foot chase through Des Moines neighborhood
A naked man who stole a vehicle before taking police on a foot chase through a Des Moines neighborhood Friday morning has been arrested, police said.
Des Moines resident Diamond Dolo, 35, is being charged with two counts of assault on a police officer causing bodily injury and two counts of first degree theft, Des Moines police Sgt. Paul Parizek said in a press release.
Police responded to a call of a naked man on the roof of an apartment around 7:38 a.m. in the 3200 block of 30th street, Parizek said.
Before police arrived, Dolo climbed down from the roof then stole an SUV from a nearby parking lot, police said.
Dolo, who later told police in a statement that he had been using illegal narcotics, was barking like a dog and seemed to be on drugs, a witness told police.
Thank you, captain obvious. “Seemed to be on drugs?” Because if this you think this is normal sober behavior, that this sort of thing happens all the time in your neighborhood, I’m staying the hell away from Des Moines.
Just before 8 a.m., as police were searching for Dolo in the stolen vehicle, dispatch received calls from people reporting a man at an apartment in the 5200 block of Twana Drive who was “confronting residents and barking like a dog,” police said in a news release.
I’m not certain the police were the correct first responders to send to the scene. I think the fire department would have been a better choice. I mean maybe this guy is like Lassie and he was trying to report that a barn was on fire somewhere or something.

“Arf!”
“Little Jimmy fell in the well?”
“Arf! Arf!”
“Good boy, Diamond.”
Police arrived soon after at which time Dolo assaulted an officer, tried to steal a police vehicle and took the officers on a foot chase through the neighborhood, scaling fences and climbing on roofs in an attempt to flee police.
I like the bit about trying to steal the cop car, because that wouldn’t have been an easy vehicle to spot. “Be on the lookout for a police cruiser driven by a naked black man barking like a dog.” But I suppose anything seems like a good idea when your on PCP or bath salts, or whatever the hell this guy ingested.
He deployed a Taser twice, “with no effect,” and eventually arrested at 8:14 in the 5000 block of Twana Drive, according to the release.
An officer who has been with the department 15 years and a officer with the department for 31 years were both treated at a local hospital for minor injuries sustained while attempting to take Dolo into custody, police said.
Dolo was also treated for minor injuries, but has since been released from the hospital and is being taken to the Polk County Jail, the release said.
I’d like to point out to Black Lives Matter, the NAACP, etc. that this guy is still alive despite having assaulted police officers and resisting arrest. So, here’s another big middle finger to your “all cops kill black people,” mantra.
It all reminds me of a similarly crazed individual’s actions back in 2016. Remember this old chestnut?
If Dolo’s barking aroused suspicion, isn’t it about time we investigate Hillary too? Or do we have to wait for her to strip naked and bark again for that to happen? Dear God, I hope not.
