2020: Socialist America or Trump’s America?

…what would then happen if the Democrats simply held the House, added three Senate seats and defeated Trump in 2020?

An all-out effort to abolish the Electoral College that is integral to the historic compromise that created our federal Union. Puerto Rico and D.C. would become states, giving Democrats four more Senators and making America a bilingual nation.

A drive would be on to give 16-year-olds and convicted felons the right to vote in federal elections, freezing Republicans out of power forever. A packing of the Supreme Court would begin by raising by six the number of justices and elevating liberal activists to the new seats.

On the southern border, where 100,000 illegal migrants were apprehended in March, Trump’s wall would come down, all peoples fleeing repression in Central America would be welcomed into the U.S., sanctuary cities would become the norm, and ICE would be abolished.

Open borders would be a reality, along with amnesty for the 12 million-20 million people here illegally, with a path to citizenship for all.

It is impossible to see how the U.S. border would ever be secured.

The Green New Deal would be enacted. Medicare for all. Free tuition for college students. Millennial college debts paid off by the government. Free pre-K schooling and day care. Guaranteed jobs for all. A guaranteed living wage. Repeal of the Reagan and Trump tax cuts. A re-raising of the corporate rate and a return of the top rate for individuals to 70 percent. New wealth taxes on the rich.

With climate change seen as an existential planetary peril, fossil fuel-powered energy plants—coal, oil, natural gas—would be phased out and a new national reliance on solar and wind begun.

There would be reparations for slavery. Abortion on demand right up to birth for all women. Marijuana would be legalized. Harris has urged that prostitution, sex work, be legalized.

How would the Green New Deal be paid for?

REPORT: Gillibrand’s Dad Worked For Sex Cult

Several court documents made public Thursday revealed that the father of 2020 presidential candidate and Democratic New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand worked on behalf of a sex cult.

Documents obtained by Big League Politics showed that Gillibrand’s father Doug Rutnik did work on behalf of NXIVM, a sex cult in Albany, New York that allegedly trafficked women. Rutnik reportedly worked for the organization for four months in 2004, at a monthly rate of $25,000.

“Her father Doug Rutnik came to work as a consultant for NXIVM. … He was fired, they sued him, and they had to pay him $100,000,” former NXIVM employee Frank Parlato told Big League Politics. “Her father’s wife, her stepmother, was also a member of NXIVM … Doug got her into the cult, Gillibrand’s father got Gillibrand’s future stepmother into the cult. Doug left the cult because he was sued. Clare Bronfman, after her father was sued, donated money to Gillibrand. Gillibrand accepted it.”

Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Okay?

Last night, freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to Instagram to build Ikea furniture, drink wine, and eat snacks while waxing philosophical on the perils of climate change. Even in today’s strange world, where presidential candidates like Beto O’Rourke post photos of themselves at the dentist, this was a bizarre display.

The oddest moment came when Ocasio-Cortez compared those who oppose her Green New Deal, or at least some kind of aggressive fight against climate change, to people in the 1950s and 1960s who opposed civil rights for black Americans.

To those who make jokes about her claim that we have 12 years to save the world, Ocasio-Cortez said, “You may laugh, but your grandkids will not.” That’s when the threats started. While chewing a snack live on Instagram she reminded us that:

The internet documents everything. You know, you want to look about, you want to talk about looking at the back of history, looking backwards, you look back and you open history books on the civil rights movement, and you see those folks who are protesting against the ability for African Americans and black Americans to have the right to vote, and they would hold up these bigoted signs, and they would hold up signs that said things like ‘what about white rights,’ and all of this stuff, in the 1950s, 1960s. So just know that in the present day there a lot of people who hide the fact that their families and their grandparents fought against the principles of equal rights in the United States. Not 100 years ago, not 80 years ago, but in this generation’s lifetime. So just know that while a lot of people can hide what their grandparents did that in the civil rights movement, you should also know that the internet documents everything. And your grandchildren will not be able to hide the fact that you fought against acknowledging and taking bold action against climate change.

With Mueller Hopes Gone, So Goes Progressive Unity

The Democratic Party has lots of radical new ideas, and lots of radical presidential candidates and politicos.

But the common hatred of President Donald Trump has united otherwise quite disparate Democratic leaders such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.); former Vice President Joe Biden; Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif), Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.); and Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.).

These diverse progressive politicians all shared faith in special counsel Robert Mueller and his “dream team.” They believed over the last two years that the Mueller investigation was slowly grinding down Trump. T-shirts were sold with the slogan “God Protect Robert Mueller.”

The unifying progressive creed assumed that the Mueller’s team would eventually find Trump unequivocally guilty of “collusion” with Russia. That buzzword was the noncriminal euphemism for felonious conspiracy to rig an election.

The hunt for collusion would end with the holy grail of Trump’s impeachment and removal from office. In 2020 there would be an almost automatic progressive takeover of government.

Rep. Ilhan Omar: Where Are Her Real Loyalties?

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has questioned the loyalties of Jewish American supporters of Israel. That inevitably raises a question about her own loyalties. You can certainly take the Muslim refugee out of Sharia-controlled Somalia, but can you take Somalia out of the refugee?

In the wake of the 1991 Somali civil war, the Mogadishu-born Omar and her family fled the strife-torn country to neighboring Kenya where they languished for four years in a refugee camp near the border. She and her family finally were warmly embraced by America in 1995 when their application was approved, and the family moved to Minneapolis. Five years later at age 17, she became an American citizen. Finishing college at North Dakota State in political science and international studies, she eventually became involved in American politics culminating in her 2018 election to Congress at age 38. We call that living the American dream. Talk about opportunities in America for a Somali-born Muslim!

Certainly, she should be overwhelmingly thankful to the majority white, traditionally Christian country that welcomed her and her Sunni Muslim family with open arms and ultimately enabled her to become Representative Omar. Well, not so fast. Maybe it’s just me, but I keep waiting to hear from Omar something along the lines of, “I am so deeply grateful to America for taking me and my family in and saving us from a life of misery, poverty and danger. This is why I am totally committed to the core Constitutional values of America that have created such a wonderful and generous country giving me an opportunity I could not have dreamed of anywhere else in the world, particularly Somalia.”
