We all know that the left blames everything on either President Trump or the NRA and sometimes both. Facts don’t matter when liberals are scapegoating and they had a doozy today. A writer for Newsweek has blamed the NRA because a crazy liberal woman went to Colorado, legally purchased a gun, and made threats against Columbine high school. Let’s call this Gun Derangement Syndrome, because it’s completely bonkers.
Fox News reports that 18-year old Sol Pais, from Florida, was obsessed with the Columbine high school massacre and said she was going to the Denver area to commit a major act of violence. She’s 18? Damn, she looks like she’s in her mid-30’s. In any case she traveled to Colorado this week and legally purchased a shotgun at a gun shop in Littleton. She was spotted in the area of Columbine dressed in camouflage, which set off a panic.
After an intense manhunt, Pais was located about 60 miles away from Denver, where she had apparently committed suicide. Crisis averted.
Looking at he details of this story, no normal person could think that the NRA had committed some kind of a crime, but abnormal people sure can. Here’s Nina Burleigh, a politics writer at Newsweek, with her take on things:

Really? What’s the NRA have to do with this? They certainly didn’t craft Colorado’s gun laws, which are fairly restrictive.
Under Colorado law a person must be at least 18 to purchase a long gun and they allow people from out of state to purchase rifles and shotguns, but not handguns. Sol Pais was 18 and had no felony convictions or anything else that would restrict her from purchasing a firearm. She passed a background check and provided her fingerprints.
As you can see by Burleigh’s tweet, she is sarcastically thanking the NRA for making this happen, which they most certainly did not. Maybe the Newsweek writer thinks that this crazy teenager was an NRA member. She wasn’t, but it does turn out she had membership in another group:

Would you look at that? This crazy bitch was a card carrying member of the Democratic Party. Is anyone shocked? Not only wasn’t she in the NRA, she belonged to a group that is dedicated to destroying the oldest civil rights organization in the country.
Why isn’t Newsweek blaming the democrats for this one? Where are the accusations that democratic politicians’ violent rhetoric against the NRA inspired this kook to get a gun and act out her brutal fantasies?
Also, I just can’t get off of this: How was this woman only 18-year-old? She looks so much older, plus how does an 18-year-old have the means to travel from Florida to Colorado and purchase a firearm? Does she have parents? I feel like there will be some stuff coming about about her that conflicts with this initial story. It also won’t surprise me if she had some kind of liberal anti-gun agenda, like this whole episode was designed to put gun control on the national agenda.
Whatever the case may be, we can say for certain that the NRA had absolutely nothing to do with a crazy democrat making threats and killing herself. If the NRA had any control over the insane shit democrats do, the unconstitutional gun laws of California, NY, and other liberal states wouldn’t exist. They wouldn’t waste this power on sending a kook from Florida to Colorado to commit suicide.
