I’ve seen a lot of cover videos on YouTube from precocious Asian children shredding Pantera to zit-faced dorks ruining Iron Maiden, but this is hands down the best. This guy friction’ rocks Lamb of God on a pair of AR-15’s and it may be the most American thing ever produced. It’s like if a 12-pack of Coors, a Harley Davidson, and a MAGA hat could be a YouTube video.
This guy calls himself The Gun Drummer and here he is playing Laid To Rest by Lamb of God:
F*ck yeah!
I don’t know how many of you know Lamb of God, but I’m a fan. It probably doesn’t really mater due to the extreme kickassness of the video.
I, myself, am a drummer and this is not bad, but he does kind of loose time at he end. I probably shouldn’t be too nitpicky because he’s playing this on 2 AR-15’s and I doubt I could duel-wield like that. I’m pretty sure I’ve never even fired a gun with my left hand, so this is impressive.
Def-Con News’ own William Muny is a smoking guitarist, so we need to encourage him to cover Van Halen’s Eruption with a select-fire M1 and an MK 19 grenade launcher. I know he would shred it.
The hidden awesomeness of this video is that Lamb of God’s singer (screamer) Randy Blythe is a serious Trump-hating liberal and this probably pisses him off to no end.
Blythe has referred to Trump as, “strange, calculated and highly sociopathic” as well as an, “infuriated orange bowl of sherbet.”
Plus he’s a lefty anti-gun crybaby as this Instagram post shows:
“You don’t use an AR-15 for hunting deer, you use it for hunting MEN, or (apparently) CHILDREN,” wrote Blythe.
Well, you can also use an AR-15 (or 2) to play a Lamb Of God song.
I can only imagine how mortified Randy Blythe is over this kick-ass video of his music being played on “weapons of war.”
You may be wondering how I can be a fan of a band with a singer who is so completely against everything I stand for, but it’s simple: I enjoy music for the music. I love a lot of bands with members who are goofball liberals and it doesn’t matter me. If I like the music that’s all that’s important. Similarly, I wouldn’t be into a band with shitty music just because they had a strong conservative message, not that I can think of any bands like that.
What I want next is a Randy Blythe reaction video to Gun Drummer rocking his song. If it includes tears, even better.
