Former Vice President Joe Biden continues to be pummeled by fellow Democrats who have seized on his praise of pro-segregationist Dixiecrats as a way to drag the frontrunner into the muck days before the first Democrat debates.
It was just ‘Joe being Joe’ on Tuesday night when the septuagenarian swamp dweller was regaling the audience at a swanky New York fundraiser with tales of how he was able to find common ground with racists but his invocation of Sens. James Eastland and Herman Talmadge triggered several of his competitors for the 2020 nomination.
The loudest of Biden’s critics was the easily combustible former mayor of Newark, NJ who is seeking to become the nation’s second black president and Cory Booker has been on the attack ever since.
Booker’s emotional meltdowns have received national attention as he has behaved like an unhinged jackass during recent Senate confirmation hearings – notably of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh – but despite his histrionics, he is still mired in the low single digits in polls or in Amy Klobuchar territory.
This week, Spartacus went on the attack and following his star turn at the sickening spectacle of the House hearings on reparations went off on Biden who he all but called a racist despite the simple fact that all of Biden’s history was out there during the entire eight years that he spent playing second banana to Barack Obama and nobody uttered a peep.
But this is politics and with the Democrats already engaging in knife fights in an increasingly nasty runup to the primaries, Booker clearly sees his self-righteous grandstanding as a way to dissuade black voters from supporting lunchbucket Joe who has refused to apologize for his remarks.
On Sunday morning, Booker showed up on ABC’s “This Week” where he continued his onslaught against Biden and claimed to speak for “many” African-Americans who were hurt by the ex-veep.

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., said that comments made last week by former Vice President Joe Biden about working with white segregationist lawmakers during his time as a senator were “hurtful” to many African-Americans.
“This is about him evoking a terrible power dynamic that he showed a lack of understanding or insensitivity to by invoking this idea that he was called son by white segregationists who, yes, they see in him their son,” Booker, a 2020 democratic presidential candidate, said during an interview on ABC’s “This Week.” “I heard from many, many African-Americans who found the comments hurtful.”
Booker noted that he had great respect for the former vice president – and rival candidate – but that also gives him the right “to be candid” with Biden and “to speak truth to power.”
Spartacus didn’t elaborate on whether he also spoke to “many, many African-Americans” who didn’t find what Biden said to be so “hurtful” and he sure as hell didn’t talk to Rep. John Lewis who is held up as an iconic civil rights figure but who dismissed the hullaballoo against Sleepy Joe.

Booker’s ABC interview was only a day after both candidates pandered to the masses at Rep. James Clyburn’s big South Carolina fish fry and despite his dismal poll numbers, Booker envisions himself as a serious player IF he can just somehow manage to affix the scarlet letter of racist to Biden’s forehead.
Unfortunately, Americans won’t be treated to any debate exchanges between the bottom-feeder and the frontrunner because in their infinite wisdom, the DNC put Booker in with the other eight chumps who will be roadkill for the rapidly ascending Elizabeth Warren who is seen by the establishment as being preferable to Bernie Sanders and his thinly-veiled communism.
Even the most favorable polls have Booker at only three-percent and whether his gambit to launch a full-frontal assault on Biden that could seriously wound the man that many believe is the only candidate who stands a chance against President Trump will result in a favorability spike remains to be seen.
