There was a mass shooting in an El Paso mall Saturday in which 20 people were killed and 26 wounded. Before any of this information was in democrats were calling for more gun control and now that some basic facts are known, liberals are going full-idiot. Is it really that hard for the left to express sympathy to the victims and leave the political bullshit out of it? Apparently so.
Fox News reports that 21-year-old Patrick Crusius opened fire in an El Paso mall, killing 20 people and injuring 26 more. He apparently used an AK-type semi-automatic rifle and was captured alive, with cops firing no rounds at the suspect. That’s all we know right now, so let the liberal idiocy begin:

Wouldn’t an “assault rifle” have the exact same rate of fire as an AR-15?
The truth of the matter is that the El Paso shooter used a semi-auto AK-type rifle which fires one round per trigger pull. In order for this weapon to fire 500 rounds per minute, the shooter would have to pull off 8.3 shots per second. I’ve never heard of professional shooters who can do this, mostly because it’s physically impossible.
Also, to achieve this rate of fire the the shooter would need a 500-round magazine, which doesn’t exist. Changing out a 30-round magazine 16 times would definitely cut down on the rate of fire.
Even emptying a 30-round magazine in 5 seconds would require getting off 6 rounds per second, which again is not something achievable with a semi-automatic that isn’t equipped with a bump stock. Police did not mention that the killer had a bump stock.
Next we have anti-gun out-of-work actress Alyssa Milano who wants WalMart to stop selling the gun the killer used:

The thing is, Walmart doesn’t sell AK-47s. In fact they don’t even sell AR-15s. Most stores don’t even sell guns at all, just ammo. Since 2015, the store doesn’t sell “assault rifles,” they won’t sell guns to anyone under 21, and they won’t sell a gun until a background check is complete no matter how long it takes.
Maybe this shooting is a better opportunity for Alyssa Milano to STFU and find something else to bitch about.
Finally we have 2020 democratic space-cadet candidate Marianne Williamson who wants to roll up some weed in the Constitution and smoke our gun rights away completely:
We must outlaw all assault style weapons for civilian use. Even then, there will still be millions of them on the street. Next we need to outlaw the manufacture and sale of the bullets that they carry.

OMG, I totally hope all democrats run on banning all gun and ammo manufacturing. That should play well with about 10% of people, half of whom don’t even vote.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: any who uses a criminal’s evil deeds as a pretext to take our rights away is the enemy.
You don’t take away everyone’s voting rights because someone casts a fraudulent vote. You don’t take away everyone’s free speech rights because someone said something offensive. Why do democrat’s thing someone committing a criminal act with a gun means everyone loses their 2nd Amendment rights?
