In a rare victory against the Hollywood purveyors of hate, a major studio has announced that it is pulling the release of a controversial movie portraying the hunting of Trump supporters for sport.
Following last weekend’s carnage in El Paso and Dayton, Universal Studios came under heavy criticism over “The Hunt” which has a plot of snooty big-city liberal elites visiting a resort in order engage in the “deeply rewarding” stalking and killing of “deplorables.”
Hollywood has managed to dodge any culpability for the epidemic of mass shootings despite the decades-long glorification of violence that has progressively become more graphic with many movies being the equivalent of snuff films for their sick and exploitative nature.
The justifiable outcry over “The Hunt” led to the studio pulling ad spots for the September release but Universal was adamant that it would still release the film which is incendiary in the current climate of media-instigated hatred and violence.
On Friday, Trump unloaded on the “racist” Hollywood elite and gave it to them with both barrels:
Liberal Hollywood is Racist at the highest level, and with great Anger and Hate! They like to call themselves “Elite,” but they are not Elite. In fact, it is often the people that they so strongly oppose that are actually the Elite. The movie coming out is made in order….

….to inflame and cause chaos. They create their own violence, and then try to blame others. They are the true Racists, and are very bad for our Country!

Being called out by the leader of the free world appears to have done the trick because Universal canceled the planned release of “The Hunt” although it has likely only been postponed until the controversy dies down.

Via Fox News:
Universal Pictures has canceled the September 27 release of the controversial movie “The Hunt,” in the wake of significant backlash over the film that depicts privileged vacationers hunting “deplorables” for sport.
NBC’s Universal Pictures, which shares parent company Comcast with NBC News and MSNBC, told Fox News on Wednesday that the movie’s marketing campaign would be “temporarily paused” on the heels of the tragic mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, Dayton, Ohio, and Gilroy, California.
At that time, it had no plans to shelf the movie itself.
But in a statement released to Fox News on Saturday, a Universal Pictures spokesperson said: “While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film.
“We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.”
According to a source, “Universal insiders feel that doing the right thing was more important than releasing the movie because of the current climate.”
The Hollywood Reporter described the film:
“Did anyone see what our ratf*cker-in-chief just did?” one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: “At least The Hunt’s coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.”
Not only is the movie a sad commentary on the sickness of the liberal-dominated entertaiment industry but an example of how pervasive that the anti-Trump hatred has become with now being difficult to watch any television, sports or movies without the inclusion of far-left politics.
The studio’s shelving of the picture – even if temporary – is no substitute for what should be sweeping congressional investigations into the effects of ultra-violent movies and television and video games on the minds of America’s impressionable youth and more importantly – the potential effects on psychotic losers like the young male gunmen who are murdering their fellow citizens.
How many simulated murders has the average child witnessed since their earliest stages of cognitive development? It’s probably in the thousands.
It will be interesting to see if “The Hunt” is shelved until right before next year’s election – that would be so like Hollywood.
