Republican Peter King Signs On To Support Democrat ‘Assault Weapons Ban’

So long, Pete. We hardly knew ya. New York Rep. Peter King, a Republican, has folded to the anti-Constitution forces in the democratic party and signed on as co-sponsor for a House “assault weapons” ban. I can only assume he will soon be switching parties or retiring from politics, because he is no longer a welcomed or viable Republican. He can’t even squeak by as a RINO on the one. He may has well just declared himself a baby-killing socialist because he’s done in the GOP with this garbage.

The New York Daily News got themselves a journalism boner while reporting on this:

An assault weapons ban that Democratic leaders have been reluctant to advance despite strong support among their rank-and-file members in the House just got its first Republican backer — Long Island Rep. Pete King.

The Assault Weapons Ban of 2019 was rolled out in February by Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.), with 190 other Democrats onboard. An additional 11 lawmakers signed on after mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, left dozens of people dead and many more injured, with King being among the most recent.

“I think the assault weapons ban is timely now, especially in view of the shooting in El Paso and Dayton,” King said.

Spoken like a true knee-jerk liberal.

“They are weapons of mass slaughter. I don’t see any need for them in everyday society,” said King.

Well then I guess it’s a good thing that the 2nd Amendment doesn’t put any conditions on gun ownership like some asshole traitor not a seeing a need.

While it’s horrifying that King would jump in the unconstitutional sewer with the democrats, it gets worse because he’s trying to get other Republicans to swim among the turds with him:

King stepping forward could encourage other Republicans to do so and prod Democrats in districts that have partisan makeups similar to King’s district, which leans only slightly Republican.

“It might give cover to some other Republicans, it might give some incentive to Democrats,” King said.

Or it might cost these lawmakers their seats like it will surely do for King.

The AWB author, democrat David Cicilline, got himself a tyranny boner with King’s flip.

“These weapons belong on the battlefield, not in our homes, schools, houses of worship or workplaces. I’m pleased that Congressman King has joined this effort. I sincerely hope that more of my Republicans colleagues will put their service to our country and the safety of their constituents ahead of their need to raise campaign money from the gun lobby,” said Cicilline.

If semi-automatic rifles belong on the battlefield, why is it that the U.S. Military doesn’t provide them for our soldiers? Maybe Cicilline should introduce the “Weaken Our Military Act of 2019” to force our fighting men and women to carry semi-autos into battle.

Also, how is trying to strip Americans of their Constitutional rights an example of Congressmen serving their country? All of these asswipes took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. What Cicilline and King are proposing is an assault on our freedom.

This piece of crap legislation will never pass the Republican-controlled Senate nor would President Trump ever sign it, which make King’s flip even dumber. Not only won’t he get any political gain out of becoming an anti-gun vagina the AWB will never become law. All King is left with are a bunch of constituents who thinks he sucks.
