Liberals think they scored a major victory in their war against civil rights today with news that Colt will no longer manufacture AR-15s for the civilian market. I suppose they believe they had something to do with this announcement and feel they are getting “weapons of war” off the streets. Like everything liberals believe, this too is a load of crap. Colt hasn’t stopped making AR-15s, they’ve suspended production because they already have a huge inventory of the guns and are going to focus efforts to fill military contracts for M-16s. Ironically, Colt has enough semi-automatic weapons on hand so they’re going to ramp up production on real weapons of war.
The left side of the Interwebz is abuzz with news that Colt is getting out of the AR-15 game.

Like all liberals, Beto never actually clicked on the article or he might have noticed this isn’t quite the victory he thinks it is.
“There have been numerous articles recently published about Colt’s participation in the commercial rifle market. Some of these articles have incorrectly stated or implied that Colt is not committed to the consumer market. We want to assure you that Colt is committed to the Second Amendment, highly values its customers and continues to manufacture the world’s finest quality firearms for the consumer market,” said Colt in a statement.
Incorrect information from the liberal media? I never heard of such a thing.
“The fact of the matter is that over the last few years, the market for modern sporting rifles has experienced significant excess manufacturing capacity. Given this level of manufacturing capacity, we believe there is adequate supply for modern sporting rifles for the foreseeable future,” Colt continued.
You see, there’s plenty of AR-15s available to the public so Colt is temporarily shifting its production capabilities to something else:
“On the other hand, our warfighters and law enforcement personnel continue to demand Colt rifles and we are fortunate enough to have been awarded significant military and law enforcement contracts. Currently, these high-volume contracts are absorbing all of Colt’s manufacturing capacity for rifles,” said Colt.
Ha. They’re making more weapons of war.

I know, I’m scared too. When MSNBC is the standard for truthful reporting that can only mean the apocalypse is nigh.
So this wasn’t quite the anti-2nd Amendment victory liberals were hoping for but at least they still have Walmart politely asking people to not carry guns in their stores in an unenforceable corporate policy.
