On September 24, 2018 Def-Con News published its first article to zero fanfare. One year later we are still crapping our pants but at least we can walk and babble incoherently now.
This was an unexpected pregnancy, but I’m pro-life and always wanted to take this to full term. I was perfectly happy being childless working at Downtrend, but then Facebook killed that thing off and I had a hole in my life that could only be filled by writing about how absolutely crazy everyone on the left is. Thus, Def-Con News was born.
I was clearly in over my head but luckily Donn Martin and William Muny came in to help me raise this child. We kind of have a Three Men and A Baby thing going only I feel like DCN is more entertaining than any non-Police Academy Steve Guttenberg movie.
As kind of an odd coincidence, Brian Anderson was a Major League pitcher for several teams including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Don Martin (with one “n”) was a cartoonist for Mad Magazine, and Billy Mumy (close enough) was Will Robinson on the original Lost In Space. We ain’t those guys though, my breaking ball sucks, I’m pretty sure Donn doesn’t draw, and no way does Will Robinson shred a guitar like Muny does.
This is the very first Def-Con News post and weirdly enough it’s still fairly relevant considering liberals continue their attempted assassination of Justice Kavanaugh’s character:

I switched the comments system to Disqus after about the first month so it’s hard to tell who had the first comment. Reader Fogeystogey has a comment on this article and it’s the first recorded instance of a Def-Con News comment so he earns a special place in our history:

We’ve had 20 articles flagged by our various ad servers for inappropriate or dangerous content. For some reason a lot of these are from Muny, which I think gives him the most street cred out of any of us.
“Kamala Harris is not black” is the most searched for term on Def-Con News, followed by “Is Kamala Harris black?” What’s up with that?
We’ve had exactly one visitor from Kazakhstan. I hope it was Borat but I bet it was the number-four prostitute in whole of Kazakhstan.
Def-Con News managed to avoid Sudden Infant Death Syndrome from the liberal-slanted social media giants and made it to our first birthday. We’re hoping to keep growing and bring you all the conservative news and leftist hysteria that makes life so damn interesting.
