The left side of the Interwebz is going nuts because a black girl in Virginia claims some white boys in her class held her down and cut off her dreadlocks. This would be a better hate crime story to be outraged over if the girl’s dreadlocks had actually been cut off, but they haven’t. There’s actually quite a few reasons to believe this is something that never happened, but the obvious fact that she still has a full head of dreadlocks is really the only thing needed to discount this.
WUSA reports that 12-year-old Amari Allen claims that 3 white boys, classmates at a Fairfax, VA Christian private school, attacked her and cut her dreadlocks off with scissors. She says that on the playground, the 3 white boys, whom she claims have been bullying her for weeks, restrained her, muzzled her, and cut off her hair.
Allen also said that the boys called her “ugly” but never used any racial slurs, which would throw the hate crime aspect out the window immediately.
She never actually reported the alleged attack for days until her grandmother notice that her hair was shorter. Why nobody in this girl’s family noticed her hair had been cut for days is a mystery only explained by the possibility that it never was cut.

In the before picture, her dreadlocks are kind of curled up and in the after picture they look much longer. I don’t see any evidence of her hair being cut off, do you?
Things look less good for this claim because the school, Immanuel Christian School, issued a statement that they don’t tolerate hate or bullying and are investigating. If this girl was attacked by white boys who have been bullying her for weeks, presumably she knows who these kids are. If she filed a legitimate complaint with the school and identified her attackers, they school would have immediately expelled these white boys. Instead, the school said they are investigating and have taken no action against any students.
Amazingly enough, nobody saw this attack that the girl didn’t report until days later. Remember, it allegedly happened on the school playground and yet no teachers or students witnessed it. What are the chances?
Oh, and just in case you aren’t outraged enough by this hard-to-believe story, VP Mike Pence’s wife Karen teaches part-time at this particular school. The reason why the liberal media is reporting this at all is to accuse the Pence’s, and by extension President Trump, of fostering a culture of hate.
There’s a lot of red flags that this never happened, but none of that compares to the fact that girl’s hair hasn’t been cut. If you’re going to make a claim like this, at least chop off some hair to make it seem plausible.
