Cancel culture (liberal outrage) successfully stopped Kevin Hart from hosting the Oscars and took a guy who donated $2 million in beer money to a children’s hospital down a peg. Now CC has set their sites on Mahatma Gandhi. Apparently the father of non-violent resistance has some old tweets that were kind of racist and sexist, so it’s time for him to get cancelled. Look out MLK, you may be next.
Wednesday is Gandhi’s 150th birthday, or it would be if he were still alive, and to celebrate NPR decided it was time to knock him of his perch:

…many black Africans are calling Gandhi a racist. #MeToo activists are questioning his sexual practices.
…as the world marks what would be his 150th birthday on Wednesday, some of his habits and teachings are facing fresh scrutiny.

Gandhi was a racist
In 1903, when Gandhi was in South Africa, he wrote that white people there should be “the predominating race.” He also said black people “are troublesome, very dirty and live like animals.”
There’s no way around it: Gandhi was a racist early in his life…
And? Has anyone outraged over this bothered to research how Africans lived in 1903? It wasn’t the most modern society. It’s not the most modern society now.
Also, Gandhi was young at the time and later disavowed his early opinions and lived most of his life opposing racism. Seriously, this is a like a tweet he sent when he was 12 and liberals are out to cancel his ass over it.
It gets worse because he was also sexist according to 2019 standards:
That included gender discrimination. Gandhi championed women in politics. But he was also obsessed with his own celibacy. In his late 70s, before he died at 78, he slept naked with his grandniece when she was in her late teens. He said he wanted to test his willpower to abstain from sex.
Nowadays, most people would call that abuse. Some question whether the young female was capable of giving consent as a minor to a man who was so revered and so much more powerful than she.
So Gandhi didn’t have sex with anyone, including his of-age grandniece? What a monster.
Wait until Cancel Culture finds out what Bill Clinton did to women. They’ll be furious. Or not.
As bad as all of this seems, it turns out Gandhi also once ate a Chick-fil-A.
It seemed like a joke that Cancel Culture would be coming for Martin Luther King Jr. next, but it’ll probably happen. MLK was a fan of Gandhi and even patterned his non-violent resistance after Gandhi’s example. The American civil rights movement was literally founded on Gandhi’s principals. If Gandhi is cancelled then so too should MLK be.
For the record neither should be cancelled. Sometimes sarcasm doesn’t come out as clearly as it should in print.
MLK has some additional issues that will be difficult for hysterical liberals to reconcile with: He was a registered Republican and a gun owner. Everyone knows gun owning Republicans are white nationalist terrorists, so MLK must be cancelled as well. (agin, this is sarcasm, relax)
So Mahatma Gandhi is now basically Roseanne Barr in that he is having his entire life’s work stripped from him and being banished for an ill-advised tweet. That’s the most 2019 thing there is.
