Nothing pisses off liberals more than the truth, even when one of their own stumbles upon it. Pete Buttigieg accurately described Beto O’Rourke’s mandatory gun “buyback” plan as gun confiscation and the some of the 2020 field lost their collective sh*t. Cory Booker accused Buttigieg of being an NRA operative and Kamala Harris got off her fainting couch to say O’Rourke’s unconstitutional disarmament plans don’t go far enough.
As you may have heard Mayor Pete and Beta O’Dork have a little feud going. Buttigieg kept the spat going during a recent interview and even took swipes at some of the other democratic candidates:
Mayor Pete on Elizabeth Warren’s small donor strategy: “We’re not going to beat Trump with pocket change”
Mayor Pete on his gun fight with Beto: “I get it. He needs to pick a fight in order to stay relevant”

But here’s where the real crime was committed:
also of note in here is that Pete goes out of his way to call mandatory buybacks “confiscation” https://t.co/UoHAZ091xI

Beto O’Rourke has a plan if he is elected president to ban semi-automatic rifles and then force people who own them legally to sell them to government. This is no a voluntary “buyback” but rather a mandatory one where anyone who refuse will be jailed or shot on sight. The “mandatory” part about this is what makes it “confiscation” and not anything else.
Cory Booker however thinks that Buttigieg is a traitor to liberalism for pointing out something obvious:
Calling buyback programs “confiscation” is doing the NRA’s work for them, @PeteButtigieg—and they don’t need our help. https://t.co/eshiBU7PIg
— Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) October 14, 2019
Clearly Spartacus is mad here, but he kind of stumbled upon his own truth: He says that by accurately describing Beto’s gun confiscation, Buttigieg is guilty of doing the NRA’s work for them. In other words, the NRA’s work is to tell the truth about gun rights and the left’s attempts to curtail those rights. Booker also suggests that the democrats work is the opposite of the NRA’s work, so what he really said was it the democrats job to mislead on the issue of gun rights.
Cory Booker is not often right so he deserves some credit here, even if it was unintentional.
Kamala Harris was also furious with Buttigieg for straying from the democratic party’s line of deception, but she expressed her anger in a different way:
Leaving more than 5 million assault weapons on the street isn’t a ban, it’s a Band-Aid. https://t.co/LuAbJAwOZh
— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) October 14, 2019
Leaving “assault weapons” on the street? Does she mean allowing people to keep their private property that they have a right to own? She actually makes Buttigieg’s point that a mandatory buyback is gun confiscation. She said the government under democratic rule will not let people have these weapons, which is the same thing as saying the government will confiscate them.
Harris also inadvertently revealed a truth here. She said that confiscating millions of legally owned weapons is a “band-aid,” meaning it’s just he begining of democrats’ efforts to disarm the American people. Once they get the “assault weapons” they are coming for the rest.
The weird thing is, Buttigieg is just as much of a gun-hating kook as the rest of the democrats. He only differs slightly from O’Rourke in that he thinks there’s a bunch of other ways they should shred the 2nd Amendment before resorting to confiscation. Buttigieg does support an “assault weapons” ban with an eventual mandatory “buyback” he just thinks the people need to be pacified first before moving in for the kill.
Beto O’Rourke looked into the camera at one of the debates and said, “Hell yes we’re going to take your AR-15.”
What the hell do Cory Booker and Kamala Harris think “take” means? One of the synonyms is “confiscate” so these two clowns are mad at Pete Buttigieg for accurately describing O’Rourke’s plan as well as quoting him directly. The other thing liberals hate as much as the truth is someone using their own words against them.
