Yet Another Mayfair Mall Brawl!

I don’t know exactly what it is about Mayfair Mall that seems to inspire so much violence. Are the prices too high? Air conditioning broken? Maybe one of the commenters can help me out here, because I just can’t put my finger on it.

But whatever the reason, there’s no arguing that this is a dangerous place to shop. A quick Google search of the establishment yields a laundry list articles like these:

– Jan 4, 2011 – This Sunday night approximately 50-60 (some estimate 100) youths went on a rampage at the Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa, WI. Unruly youths …

– Dec 27, 2016 – A fight breaks out at Mayfair Mall. The man who captured this video tells . . .

– Mar 19, 2007 – Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa announced its parental guidance policy that … related to incidents ranging from fights to a suspect carrying a gun.

And so on.

The violence continued a couple days ago when an angry mob ran amok through the Mall, allegedly ganging up on one 15 year old girl.

Fox6 reports

WAUWATOSA — Two people were arrested and four more detained by police after a fight inside Mayfair Mall Saturday night, Oct. 12. FOX6 News on Sunday spoke with a pregnant woman injured in the ordeal.

Octavia Stitts said her daughter was randomly attacked inside the mall, and when she arrived, she had an encounter with security.

Octavia Stitts: “My baby! My baby!”

“My baby said they tackled her to the ground,” said Stitts.

Stitts said a group ganged up on her 15-year-old daughter, who was shopping at the mall.

“I just broke down and cried when I saw that whole crowd attack my baby,” said Stitts.

Stitts rushed to the mall when she learned her daughter was injured and with security.

Dindufuffin, apparently. But I’m not buying it because . . .

“They had my baby and her little cousin handcuffed,” said Stitts. “My baby was complaining about how tight the handcuffs were.”

You usually don’t get handcuffed if you really dindunuffin. And “complaining” about the handcuffs. My guess is she was spewing expletives and being combative.

Stitts said she tried to step in, but was taken down by security. Thirty-six weeks pregnant, Stitts said the ordeal resulted in early contractions.

“Tried to step in.” Interfered would be more accurate. I’m speculating, but attacked might even be a better word.

“I’m in the hospital right now because security threw me on my stomach several times and tackled me down,” said Stitts.

OK. In the video we never see Stitts on her stomach. To be fair, we don’t see the whole incident, so maybe it happened. But what Stitts said is telling, “. . . threw me on my stomach several times.” If that’s true, how did that happen? Are you telling me that these security guards threw you to the floor, picked you up, then threw you to the floor again repeatedly for shits and giggles. IF that happened it was because you were resisting and continued to resist.

Stitts said she wishes things were handled differently by everyone involved.

“It’s not cool,” said Stitts. “I could have lost my baby. I could have also lost my unborn to some nonsense me and my child had nothing to do with.”

But you didn’t, so shut up. And maybe you should have taken your unborn child’s welfare into consideration before putting yourself in a potentially dangerous situation.

So let’s watch the video.

Stitts said she was not arrested and wasn’t sure why her daughter was targeted by the group.

Probably for “disrespecting” someone. Just a guess.

A Mayfair Mall spokesman issued this statement:

“There is nothing more important than providing our community with a safe, peaceful shopping environment. Following the unfortunate, isolated incident last night at Mayfair Mall, below is an official statement from our security vendor, Andy Frain Services:”

“This is a developing police investigation led by the Wauwatosa Police Department, and we are directing all inquiries to them. However, we can confirm that the individuals involved were disruptive, uncooperative and became physically assaultive towards our security officers.”

Why don’t I have a hard time believing that?

In the end, we can be assured that Octavia is doing her damnedest for a chance to spin the wheel in the ghetto lotto.
