There are 19 democrats running for president in 2020, surely one of them must be good enough to beat President Trump, right? Well actually no, all of the democratic candidates are terrible, and don’t call me Shirley. The big money democrat donors, the ones who call the shots in the party, are starting to freak out because their roster of candidates is exceptionally weak. It would be weird that they just figured this out except liberals aren’t known for their foresight.
The New York Times reports that it is panic time in the democratic party:
When a half-dozen Democratic donors gathered at the Whitby Hotel in Manhattan last week, the dinner began with a discussion of which presidential candidates the contributors liked. But as conversations among influential Democrats often go these days, the meeting quickly evolved into a discussion of who was not in the race — but could be lured in.
“Since the last debate, just anecdotally, I’ve had five or six people ask me: ‘Is there anybody else?’” said Leah Daughtry, a longtime Democrat who has run two of the party’s recent conventions.
With doubts rising about former Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s ability to finance a multistate primary campaign, persistent questions about Senator Elizabeth Warren’s viability in the general election and skepticism that Mayor Pete Buttigieg, of South Bend, Ind., can broaden his appeal beyond white voters, Democratic leaders are engaging in a familiar rite: fretting about who is in the race and longing for a white knight to enter the contest at the last minute.
“There’s more anxiety than ever,” said journalist Connie Schultz.
Okay, they don’t like the guy with dementia, the fake Indian princess, and gay Alfred E.Newman, but what about the commie with the heart condition, the chick who slept her way into politics, or Spartacus? Yeah, okay. I see the problem democrats are having with this collection of unlikeable unelectable losers, but maybe this is something they should have worked out before now.
So if democrats are nervous about the current candidates, who do they want to come in and save them from certain defeat? Remember, these are democrats we’re talking about so their dream list of candidates is somehow worse then their nightmare reality candidates:
Would Hillary Clinton get in, the contributors wondered, and how about Michael R. Bloomberg, the former New York mayor? One person even mused whether Michelle Obama would consider a late entry, according to two people who attended the event, which was hosted by the progressive group American Bridge.
Former Secretary of State John F. Kerry, who associates say has wondered aloud about whether he should have run and has found it hard to watch Mr. Biden’s missteps, has also been urged to get in.
Another Obama administration official who weighed a campaign at the start of the year, former Attorney General Eric Holder, is considering a last-minute entry…
And Deval Patrick, the former Massachusetts governor, who also weighed a campaign run before deciding not to, said he too has been nudged by friends to reconsider.
Hillary Clinton and John Kerry are democrats’ dream ticket? That’s two terrible former Obama Secretaries of State who have both lost a presidential election to a Republican. Only in liberal fantasy land are people with a proven track record of losing considered ringers.
Speaking of which, it’s “front-runner” “Trump-killer” Joe Biden, who has failed in 2 previous attempts at the White House and who democrats put all their eggs in his basket, that is causing all of this panic:
Mr. Biden’s lackluster debate performances and alarmingly low cash flow — he has less than $9 million on hand, not even half of some of his rivals — has fueled the Democratic disquiet.
Democrats who have…the same concerns other party elites have about the field — worried about Mr. Biden’s durability…
Still, it’s unlikely that the what-if musing, particularly among the party’s class of donors, elected officials and strategists, will quiet down as long as Mr. Biden is struggling…
“With Trump looming, there is genuine concern that the horse many have bet on may be pulling up lame and the horse who has sprinted out front may not be able to win,” said former Obama advisor David Axelrod.
“If Biden were surging, I doubt you would be hearing this. This shows a restlessness among a lot of people,” said democratic consultant Harold Ickes.
Here’s a newsflash for democrats: Joe Biden of today is the exact same person as Joe Biden of 6 months ago when he announced his candidacy and Joe Biden of 10 years ago. He’s a crazy person who says inappropriate things, plagiarizes, and can’t win a primary election to save his life. Did they think he was a fine wine and would get better with age?
To put into perspective how awful the 2020 democrats are: even with the liberal media running propaganda for them while tearing down President Trump and the House democrats trying to delegitimize him with a bogus impeachment inquiry, the democratic party donors still don’t think they can win. The 2020 dems are so bad they’ll still loose in an election rigged in their favor and that’s pathetic.
