The Walking Dead: A Perfect Example of Why I Hate Television

My wife’s favorite holiday is Halloween and that means the month of October is pretty much dedicated to watching scary movies. One of those is the series “The Walking Dead.” We’ve watched it from the first season and now we’re on season nine. The show has had its ups and downs as far as entertainment goes, but now it’s become just unbearable. Why? Because now it’s all about “political correctness.”

I should have seen this coming. I recall several years ago when this show first started there was a huge outcry from blacks that there just weren’t enough black characters in the show. My question was that why should there be? It appeared to me that they were portrayed just about in line with the actual percentage of blacks in America. But the show caved to the pressure and more and more of them appeared. OK, whatever. But it didn’t stop there.

There was also a character Daryl, who road a motorcycle. He’s a redneck guy who rides a motorcycle. In the first few seasons, said bike featured SS runes on the gas tank.

Not an unrealistic portrayal. Many biker gangs use Nazi symbolism, but soon these runes mysteriously vanished without an explanation. I can only imagine the cries of racism that caused this.

Then slowly the current hatred of white males began to rear it’s ugly head. They began to disappear, being replaced by minorities and women (also mostly minorities). Further, many of these women are of course lesbians. The remaining white men are of course mostly gay, as that’s the only kind of white man that’s acceptable by liberal television these days.

Then there’s this fact that liberal Forbes celebrated with the headline, “A Milestone: All Of The Walking Dead’s Relationships Are Now Interracial Or LGBT.”

The author states that, “I don’t know why I wanted to stop and point all this out, I just think that it’s cool that in a cast this big, every single relationship on the show is now either LGBT or interracial.”

Well, whoop-de-fucking do! That may be great for you, but it makes me sick.

Yeah, I know it’s a show about the zombie apocalypse, or at least it was, now it’s just a vehicle to shove the liberal agenda down viewers throats. A show containing zombies isn’t overly concerned about realism but even so, tell me how in a country in which about 4.5% of the population identifies as “LGBT” is now the overwhelming demographic of the survivors of the apocalypse?

Then there’s this thing which was introduced in the season I’m currently watching:

Kelly is its name, which like the old SNL character’s name Pat, can go either way. I couldn’t decide if it was male or female. It wasn’t until someone referred to it as “she” that I figured it out. It turns out this is a female, but the character in the original comic book series was a male, so isn’t using an actor as androgynous as this a form of bowing to transgenders?

Meh!

I’m not alone in this. One commenter in an article about this season stated, “Season 9 of TWD viewership is down because they have become too political…the writers have lost their way.

“We don’t need homosexuals…we just don’t…”

No, we don’t. Yet here they are.

But alas, my wife has become addicted to this series and therefore I will inevitably have to see it through. Don’t get me wrong, she dislikes the current state of affairs as much as I do, but she still gets scared by the zombies. So I’ll watch to the bitter end.

It’s as ridiculous as the casting of a black man to play Inspector Javert in the PBS adaptation of ‘Les Miserables.’ I mean how many blacks were there in 1832 France and how many held positions of power? Try none. But that’s the state of television these days and will remain so as long as it’s controlled by liberals.

Call me a racist, a homophobe, or whatever else you want to. I’m really not. I’m just tired of liberal bullshit being forced upon my eyes. Sure, I could just not watch, but in this case I can’t. Gotta stay true to my bride, and we share our disgust at what this show has become. If you could only hear the profanity being hurled towards the television last night.

In the end I know most of you probably could care less about this stupid show, but I wanted to get this off my chest. And it’s more than just about this stupid show. It’s about all liberal media.
