With Anti-Gunners Swalwell And O’Rourke Out, Gun Control Is Still A Losing Issue

Liberals have this theory that if they repeat a lie enough times it becomes true: global warming causes cold weather in the winter, abortions save lives, wearing dresses turns men into women, etc… Their latest trick is proclaiming gun control a winning issue for democrats. After years of being a political “third rail” libs now say that democrats can run and win on attacking our 2nd Amendment rights. The failed presidential campaigns of anti-gunners Eric Swalwell and Beto O’Rourke beg to differ.

The liberal media is nothing but the propaganda arm of the democratic party and in recent moths has been pushing a false narrative that gun control is going to win seats up and down the ballot:

Here’s The Washington Post: On guns, Democrats know they have a winning issue

The New York Times: After Years of Setbacks, Democrats Again See Gun Control as a Winning Issue

CNBC: Gun control could be a defining issue for Democrats on the 2020 campaign trail

Think Progress: The 2020 election might be the first to hinge on gun control. It’s become a winning issue for Democrats

The Conversation: How a ‘missing’ movement made gun control a winning issue

You get the idea, all of the liberal media is proclaiming how gun control is a winning issue. What is this based on? Certainly not any actual winning and in fact the 2020 democratic presidential candidates with the most extreme anti-gun platforms flamed out spectacularly.

California Rep. Eric Swalwell entered the 2020 field as the “gun control” candidate. His entire campaign was based on taking our rights and our guns. He even threatened to nuke Americans who would resist his efforts to disarm the country. Swalwell never got more than 0% support and dropped out of the race.

Beto O’Rourke was a “rockstar” in the democratic party until he announced his candidacy and then suddenly nobody cared about him. To jumpstart his flailing campaign, he became the “gun control” guy proclaiming, “Hell yes we’re going to take your AR-15.” After hovering in the 2-4% range of support, O’Rourke took his suffering campaign behind the barn and shot it in the head.

Gun control certainly wasn’t a winning issue for these two bozos and in reality, it hurt their campaigns. Keep in mind that this wasn’t a general election that it failed in but rather the democratic primaries, where liberal voters supposedly love gun control.

Gun control is such a losing issue that it can accurately predict who will drop out of the race next. All the 2020 dems are in favor of gun control but some of the candidates are more extreme than others and their days are numbered:

Cory Booker wants to ban most guns and turn millions of law-abiding gun owners into felons, which he promised he would jail. Booker’s cash flow has dried up and he’s polling at 3%. He’ll drop out in the next couple of weeks.

Pete Buttigieg thinks the 2nd Amendment only protects slingshots and water balloons, while favoring an escalating schedule of gun control that would result in confiscation. He’s polling at 4% and will be out by Christmas.

Kamala Harris has promised to use executive action on her first day in office to bypass Congress and enact gun control laws. Harris recently cut most of her campaign staff and is polling at 5%. She may hang on until the Iowa caucuses but will end her candidacy soon after.

Democrats can engage in their fantasy that gun control is suddenly a winning issue, but the facts don’t lie. Whichever one of these delusional anti-gun kooks ends up being the party’s nominee is going to learn a hard lesson in the general election that Americans are still kind of attached to their Constitutional rights.

Repeating a lie doesn’t make it true. If it did, Hilary Clinton would be president instead of a sad old lady wandering the woods in a polyester pantsuit.
