Canceled by the cancel culture…
The war on free speech is raging north of the border as the cancel culture has claimed the legendary professional hockey analyst Don Cherry as its latest victim.
The 85-year-old former NHL coach who after his 1979 firing hit it big as a broadcaster on Hockey Night In Canada became a prized scalp on the wall for the outrage mob following comments that he made over the weekend during a tribute to fallen Canadian military troops for the nation’s Remembrance Day.
During the Coaches Corner segment of Saturday’s tilt between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers, Cherry lamented that he did not see ingrate immigrants wearing the red poppies as a tribute to those who sacrificed all so that they could one day invade and occupy Canada and leech off of the welfare state.
Comment that got Don Cherry fired:
“People … come here, whatever it is, you love our way of life, you love our milk & honey. At least you can pay a couple of bucks for poppies .. These guys pay for your way of life that you enjoy in Canada. These guys pay the biggest price." pic.twitter.com/QWoQPaiY47

According to the coach who has devoted much time to promoting veteran’s causes:
“You people … love our way of life, you love our milk and honey. At least you could pay a couple of bucks for a poppy”
“These guys paid for your way of life, the life you enjoy in Canada. These guys paid the biggest price.”
Little did Cherry know that he would be soon be hit with the ultimate penalty – banning from the airwaves despite his popularity with hockey fans thanks to the intolerant left and their formidable media pressure campaigns.

Via Reuters, “Canadian hockey commentator Don Cherry fired over inflammatory remarks toward immigrants”:
Don Cherry, whose provocative views and outlandish suit jackets made for appointment viewing on Canada’s popular Saturday night hockey broadcasts, was fired after inflammatory comments he directed at Canadian immigrants, the Sportsnet network said on Monday.
Cherry, 85, had been a fixture since the early 1980s on “Coach’s Corner,” a commentary that runs during the first intermission of the highly rated “Hockey Night in Canada.”
He entered the broadcast booth after a long playing career in hockey’s minor leagues and then as a popular, flamboyant National Hockey League coach, most notably with the Boston Bruins in the 1970s.
Cherry attracted adulation and criticism for his outspoken views on the state of hockey and its players. He also strayed into social commentary, arousing controversy on issues like his support of the Iraq war and criticism of “left-wing kooks.”
The Canadian National Post reports this important detail:
Complaints about Don Cherry’s ‘you people’ remark overwhelm broadcast standards body
So many people complained to the Canadian Broadcasting Standards Council about Cherry, that it exceeded ‘the CBSC’s technical processing capacities’
Translation: the outrage industrial complex was whipped into action as we have so often seen right here in America where what can only be described as cyberbullying campaigns have terrorized corporations into compliance.
Sticking to his guns, Cherry was unapologetic:
Update: Even after his firing, Don Cherry said he saw nothing wrong with his comments. “I know what I said, and I meant it,” he told The Toronto Sun. https://t.co/Ltd3Jor53S

Alas, in Canada hypocrisy is the coin of the realm as there were zero consequences after damning pictures and video of swishy Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in blackface were unearthed.
In what should have been a major scandal that if there was any fairness would have brought down the golden boy of globalism, nary a hair on Justin Of Canada’s pretty little head was so much as mussed.
A new high quality video of @JustinTrudeau dancing in blackface

Cherry has been long-despised by liberals for his uncompromising views and disdain for political correctness and now that free speech has been targeted for extinction by the social media mob, this time they got him.
