Al Sharpton’s Own ‘Charity’ Paid Him Over A $1 Million In Salary Last Year

The race-hustle game ain’t as lucrative as it was in the good ole days when Obama was president, but there’s still money to be made by a highly-motivated grifter. Al Sharpton, for example, made a nice $1 million salary from his his own pseudo-charity, the National Action Network (NAN). He was only set to make about half of that but Al decided he was doing such a great job he gave himself a $500,000 bonus. In the most surreal moment in race-hustling history, Sharpton is now shaking himself down for money.

Fox News got a hold of the National Action Network’s tax records and found this eye-popping expenditure:

The Rev. Al Sharpton raked in $1,046,948 from his own charity last year, according to National Action Network’s latest tax filings…

Sharpton got a $324,000 salary — 32% higher than his 2017 pay — in addition to a $159,596 bonus and $563,352 in “other compensation.”

I stand corrected. Sharpton actually gave himself a $722,548 bonus. As it turns out, NAN hired an “executive compensation firm” that luckily discovered Al Sharpton had been woefully under paid in the years 2004-2017. NAN said the firm determined that Sharpton was owed $1.252 million, but in a move of generosity, Big Al was willing to take $500,000 less. What a guy.

Sharpton tried to quash any rumblings that he is a con artist using his fake charity as an ATM:

The sharp-dressing, silver-tongued preacher defended the windfall before taking the stage for his weekly rally at NAN’s House of Justice in Harlem, an event where attendees throw cash in the collection bucket at the reverend’s behest.

“Fifteen years, you are talking about since 2004 when I came back after running for president,” he said. “For anybody else it would be laughable.”

He said he also deserved the 2018 raise.

“It’s a six-day-a-week job and several hours a day and when [the compensation firm] compared it to other companies, other nonprofits, that’s the salary that they would get,” he said.

Despite Sharpton’s claim of being under paid, Fox News found that he made an average salary of $283,543 in the years he was supposedly getting ripped off, which is, “within the competitive range of those who held similar positions.” In 2014 he made $348,244 plus a $64,400 bonus. In 2016 he made $250,000 plus a $437,555 bonus.

NAN took in $7.3 million in donations last year and after making it rain on Sharpton, paid off accumulated tax debt. It’s unclear if this included paying off Sharpton’s personal debt but even if it does, the tax-cheating race-hustler still owes $698,470 in back taxes.

Outside of making Al Sharpton a millionaire, what exactly does the National Action Network do? Does this organization feed and clothe the homeless? Do they offer scholarships to bright young black students? Do they cover the legal bills of minorities unjustly accused of crimes? As far as I can tell, they don’t do a damn thing that helps anyone but Sharpton.

According to the NAN website…

National Action Network is one of the leading civil rights organizations in the Nation with chapters throughout the entire United States. Founded in 1991 by Reverend Al Sharpton, NAN works within the spirit and tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to promote a modern civil rights agenda that includes the fight for one standard of justice, decency and equal opportunities for all people regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, criminal record, economic status, gender, gender expression, or sexuality.

Noticeably ascent form the NAN website is the description of any program that directly or indirectly helps anyone. I’m assuming that because these programs don’t exist. Basically NAN pays Al Sharpton a butt-load of money so he can go around the country screaming “racism!” at stuff.

I’m curious to know who actually donates money to this sham organization. I’d also like to know why black people continue to support this charlatan. They keep giving Al Sharpton money and voting for democrats like he tells ‘em too, but not one of them ever questions why they aren’t seeing an improvement in their lives or communities.

The race game ain’t what it used to be but Sharpton found a way to cash in by putting the profit in “non-profit” and that’s why he’s still the king of the hustle.
