Another day, another crooked Democrat is in the news and this time it’s one of the members of the infamous Chicago machine that produced Barack Obama.
Following raids on his Chicago home and office by federal agents, Illinois State Senator Martin Sandoval announced his retirement effective January 1st of 2020.
It was in September that the FBI descended on Sandoval’s home as a part of a major investigation into corruption and with warrants to collect materials related to construction, transportation and power company officials, lobbyists, gambling interests, a red-light camera company, and multiple suburban mayors.

Sandoval who has been in the state senate for sixteen years continues in the fine tradition of Windy City corruption that has helped to transform one of the nation’s largest cities into a crime-infested, money-strapped hellhole that borders on a banana republic.
Another DEMOCRAT POLITICIAN caught up in a CORRUPTION probe. And in Chicago of all places where political corruption thrives. Didn’t Obama cut his teeth in politics in Chicago? Just sayin’https://t.co/wX290N82Io

Via The Chicago Tribune, “Sen. Martin Sandoval resigns amid federal corruption investigation”:
State Sen. Martin Sandoval, the Southwest Side Democrat whose statehouse offices were raided by federal agents in September, is resigning his legislative seat effective with the new year, State Board of Elections officials said Wednesday.
Sandoval, in his 16th year as a state lawmaker, had previously resigned his chairmanship of the powerful Senate Transportation Committee. He has been a member of the leadership team of Senate President John Cullerton, who is retiring in January.
“It is with a heavy heart, I, Martin A. Sandoval, do hereby resign the office of state senator” effective Jan. 1 at 12:01 p.m., Sandoval, who has not responded to requests for comments since the raids, said in a letter to the office of the secretary of the Illinois Senate.
“Respect for my constituents and the Senate convinced me that this action is necessary in order to proceed without distraction to the important work that needs to be accomplished for working families throughout the state of Illinois in the future,” Sandoval wrote.
Federal agents raided Sandoval’s Springfield office on Sept. 24 with a search warrant seeking a vast array of information involving construction, transportation and power company officials, lobbyists, gambling interests, a red-light camera company and at least three suburban mayors. Agents also were at his Cicero office and his home. The Sandoval raid was quickly followed by federal law enforcement actions in McCook, Lyons and Summit — all towns in the senator’s district.
Sandoval also recently made news over a mock assassination of President Trump that was staged at one of his fundraising events.

Chicago’s ABC-7 Eyewitness News reported on the raid:
Federal agents raided the offices and home of State Senator Martin Sandoval (D-IL 11) Tuesday.
Around lunchtime, FBI agents hauled boxes of material marked evidence out of Sandoval’s office in the state capitol in Springfield. Agents also raided his district office in Cicero and home in Chicago’s Gage Park neighborhood.
Sandoval has represented the state’s 11th District since 2002. His district covers the city’s south and west side, and overlays a chunk of State Speaker Michael Madigan’s constituency. Sandoval was first elected in part through the efforts of the now-defunct Hispanic Democratic Organization. He got a Chicago Public School in his sister’s honor built near his home, and has focused on immigration and small business issues.
Business owners near his district office were surprised by the raids.
“We saw the cameras coming up over here,” said Harry Lamiot, Dell Plumbing Company. “To tell you the truth we never see him, very much of him, they are kind of private it seems, at least for us.”
The feds have had their hands full lately when it comes to investigations involving corrupt Democrats although unfortunately, they have not done much on a national level and especially in Washington D.C. which is the white-collar crime capital of the planet.
