The democrats really outdid themselves on Wednesday in their sham impeachment/coup hearings. They brought in a group of liberal anti-Trump law professors to testify that in their completely biased opinions, Trump should be impeached. One of these so-called experts even said that the reason why Trump deserves to be impeached is because he doesn’t want to be impeached. In an impeachment inquiry in search of an impeachable offense, liberal logic saves the day.
Harvard Law professor Noah Feldman help democrats do something they had been unable to achieve: identify an impeachable offense:
“I don’t think it’s possible to emphasize this strongly enough: a president who will not cooperate in an impeachment inquiry is putting himself above the law. Now putting yourself above the law as president is the core of an impeachable offense,” said Feldman.
You got that? President Trump won’t play along with an illegal and illegitimate impeachment inquiry so therefore he should be impeached. This brilliant legal scholar is saying that defending oneself against baseless accusations is an admission of guilt and grounds for a conviction.
That’s an interesting legal argument. Hillary Clinton refused to cooperate in the investigation into her illegal e-mail server and even destroyed evidence that had been subpoenaed and yet she wasn’t charged with or convicted of anything.
Barack Obama refused to cooperate with a Congressional investigation into his AG Eric Holder arming Mexican drug cartels so they could kill U.S. Border Patrol agents. Obama ignored subpoenas and blocked information requests and yet somehow wasn’t impeached.
And let’s get real here, Trump hasn’t refused to cooperate in the democrats impeachment inquiry in any way. He hasn’t blown off any subpoenas or refused to release information. In fact, he’s been very forthcoming, releasing all relevant info.
Obviously what Feldman meant was that when a Republican is accused of something, even if there’s no evidence, he is guilty while damning evidence against democrats exonerates them. This is an off-shoot of liberal logic known as liberal legalese.
Feldman kept is going by saying that if Trump isn’t impeached for defending himself against impeachment, America will be destroyed.
“If we cannot impeach a president who abuses his office for personal advantage, we no longer live in a democracy—we live in a monarchy, or we live under a dictatorship,” Feldman said.
What’s this “we” stuff? Does Feldman think his position as a Trump-hating liberal professor gives him the authority to remove the duly-elected President of the United States from office? My gut feeling is, yes.
The problem here is that the democrats haven’t come close to establishing that the President abused his power. If the House does vote to impeach Trump it will be for no other reason than they don’t like him, which would be a much bigger threat to our country.
As it turns out, Feldman has been saying Trump should be impeached for everything and anything since he took office:
Trump’s wiretap tweets raise risk of impeachment https://t.co/jYXbswpKVu via @BV

Trump should worry, @NoahRFeldman writes: Comey memo describes an impeachable offense https://t.co/GRHB1fqG8d via @bv

If shown that Trump removed Comey to avoid being investigated? Yes impeachable: abuse of power, corruption, undermines rule of law. https://t.co/9Kc5NVVaQj

Their legally novel reading of “corruptly” wouldn’t fly in court. But we agree that this is impeachable!

He maybe should have scrubbed those tweets before testifying to at least give the impression of impartiality.
Also, maybe the democrats should have vetted their “expert” legal scholars before they testified. One of the other witnesses argued that Trump should be impeached for giving his son Barron a title of nobility, something he never did. Throw that in with Feldman’s claim that Trump should be impeached because he doesn’t want to be impeached and it spells serious desperation from treasonous democrats who have nothing of substance.
