Eric Swalwell Explains Why Democrats Don’t Need A Crime To Impeach President Trump

Constitutionally speaking, if you’re going to remove a president from office, you should have a damn good reason, namely a specific crime to charge the POTUS with. Democrats have flirted with crimes like extortion and bribery in their coup attempt, but when it came time to draft the articles of impeachment those real crimes were nowhere to be found. Impeaching a presidnet without a crime is not a good look, but luckily democrat Eric Swalwell stepped in to explain they don’t need no stinking crimes to impeach President Trump.

California Rep. Eric Swalwell always has a look on his face like he can’t quite figure out how to open the child-proof cap on a bottle of Advil. It speaks volumes to the democrats’ impeachment case that they got this simpleton to explain why the democrats can impeach President Trump without a crime or impeachable offense.

In Thursday’s House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearing, Republican Jim Jordan tried to introduce an amendment to the articles of impeachment voiding them since there is no actually crime detailed. Then, Republican Jim Sensenbrenner seconded Jordan’s amendment saying, “There was no impeachable offense here.”

“The entire argument for impeachment in this case is based on a charge that is not a crime, much less a high crime,” said Republican Steve Chabot. “If that’s the best you got, you wasted a whole lot of time and taxpayer dollars all because so many of you hate this President.”

Judiciary Committee head Jerry Nadler of course denied the proposed amendment and then Swalwell jumped in a dipshit attempt to save some face.

“There are no crimes here? That’s the defense my colleagues across the aisle are putting forward? Swalwell asked incredulously.

You have to admit that’s a pretty compelling reason to strike down an impeachment attempt. Swalwell however doesn’t have to admit it because he’s trying to impeach President Trump without a crime and here’ why he thinks that’s perfectly acceptable:

“The Constitution does not require President Trump committed statutory crimes,” claimed Swalwell.

Well yeah, it really does.

Swalwell went on to explain that while the House democrats didn’t put any real crimes in the articles of impeachment, they could have very easily included “bribery” and “honest services fraud.”

Republican Louie Gohmert had a reasonable question to Swalwell’s nonsense:

“We’re hearing, ‘oh yes, there were crimes.’ Well, why aren’t they in this impeachment document?” Gohmert demanded to know.

It was nothing but crickets from the democrats so Gohmert went ahead and answered for them.

“Because they don’t exist,” said Gohmert.

Solid point and sick burn, Louie.

Swalwell also tried to say that Trump’s real crime was: “The highest crime one could commit. A crime against our Constitution.”

This is from the guy who wanted to ban and confiscate guns, with a threat of nuclear annihilation for those who refused to submit. In case Swalwell is unaware, the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, so his gun control proposal was a crime against the Constitution. Can we expect Swalwell to impeach himself?

Insane democrat Maxine Waters said basically that impeachment is whatever the democrats say it is. On Thursday, Swalwell fulfilled Mad Maxine’s prophecy by claiming they can impeach President Trump without a crime or impeachable offense. Clearly the democrats have decided that impeachment is them hating the Republican President of the United States.
