NBC Says Voting For Trump Is An Unconstitutional Racist Hate Crime

Are you white? Did you vote for Donald Trump in 2016? If so NBC says you are a racist who has broken the law. No, seriously. The liberal news network says white people voting for Trump is both unconstitutional and a hate crime. The only way you can stay on the right side of the law is to vote for who NBC tells you to because freewill is no longer tolerated.

NBC is so fake news that they can take something that is a joke and turn it it into no joke. Behold: Trump voters motivated by racism may be violating the Constitution. Can they be stopped?

It’s already absurd that NBC is saying that voting for Trump is an illegal hate crime, but they actually published a piece wondering if it is possible to stop people from voting for whoever they want to. Apparently they think lawmakers should be stopping the scourge of personal political opinions:

Republicans and Democrats alike have been unwilling to reprimand voters or to hold them accountable. But racist voting isn’t an accident.

Racist voting? What’s that?

If the Trump era has taught us anything, it’s that large numbers of white people in the United States are motivated at least in part by racism in the voting booth. Donald Trump ran an openly racist campaign for president, calling Mexicans rapists and criminals, regularly retweeting white supremacists and at least initially balking at repudiating former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. Trump made it clear in his campaign that “Make America Great Again” meant that America was greater when white people’s power was more sweeping and more secure. White voters approved of that message by a whopping 58 percent to 37 percent.

Obama captured 93% of the black vote. Is that racist voting too?

All of NBC’s examples of Trump’s racism are a lie and they know it, but the line about how MAGA means a return to when the country was run by white supremacists is the biggest load of all. Trump is a Republican and the white supremacists who once ran this country were democrats. Trump wasn’t trying to put America back under democratic control.

NBC argued that voting for Trump is an act of illegal racism and this is their proof:

Terry Smith, a visiting professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law, offers a different response in his new book, “Whitelash: Unmasking White Grievance at the Ballot Box.” Rather than excuse racist voters or try to figure out how to live with their choices, he argues that racist voting is not just immoral, but illegal. The government, Smith says, has the ability, and the responsibility, to address it.

This sounds radical. But Smith argues that it’s in line with the Constitution and with years of court rulings. For example, Smith points out that racist appeals in union elections are illegal and that an election in which one side uses racist appeals can be invalidated by the National Labor Relations Board. Similarly, in the 2016 case Peña v. Rodriguez, the Supreme Court ruled that when a juror expresses overt bigotry, the jury’s verdict should be invalidated.

“When voters go to the booth, they’re not expressing a mere personal preference,” Smith told me. According to Smith, voters who pull the levers to harm black people are violating the Constitution. If the Constitution means that overt racist appeals undermine the legality of union elections, it stands to reason that they undermine the legality of other elections, as well.

I’m white and I voted for Trump in 2016. My motivation was that I’m a registered Republican and he’s was the Republican Party candidate. Also, the alternative was Hillary Clinton.

I should also point out that under Trump, black people have done better than they ever have in the history of the United States. Sure, democrats will boast that when they were in control and propping up the institution of slavery blacks had a 100% employment rate, but they certainly enjoy the historic unemployment rate under President Trump better. Far from harming black people, a vote for Trump was the best thing to happen to blacks since Abraham Lincoln, another Republican, emancipated them.

NBC had a feeling some Trump voters might try to claim they didn’t vote for him out of racism, so they put together a rock-solid counterargument:

Trump’s unprecedented, compulsive, easily documented lying during the 2016 campaign made him an irrational choice. It’s reasonable to conclude that voters were willing to swallow the falsehoods because they liked what they heard: overt racist appeals and incessant lies about rising crime rates. Research has since suggested that plenty of Trump voters were indeed strongly motivated by racist resentment and anti-immigrant animus.

NBC, being compassionate, doesn’t want to throw white Trump voters in prison for violating the Constitution with their racism, they just want to rig country’s election system so only democrats can ever win. According to them it’s the only fair way to ensure people don’t have their own political opinions.

Meanwhile, CNN has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against NBC for being faker and more partisan than the beleaguered cable network.
