Now that he’s the democratic party frontrunner, Bernie Sanders is trying to downplay his love of socialism/communism so he can pivot to the general election where most voters are horrified by that crap. He however ain’t trying all that hard. In a 60 Minutes interview Comrade Bernie defended his previous praise for Cuban communist dictator Fidel Castro by heaping praise on him. Someone should tell him that Fidel Castro is dead, so if he’s fishing for an endorsement it’s not going to happen.
It’s unclear why CNN fake news stooge Anderson Cooper was doing interviews for 60 Minutes, but he was and this is what he got out of Bernie Sanders.

Copper brought up a 1980s interview Sanders did in which he slobbered all over Fidel Castro. This is Bernie explaining why the Cuban people didn’t help the U.S. overthrow the Castro regime.
“He educated their kids, gave them health care, totally transformed their society,” said Sanders.
Flash forward to Sunday evening and Sanders was still singing Castro’s praises.
“We’re very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba but you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad. You know, when Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?” Said said.
Cooper pointed out that Castro did eliminate all dissent to which Sanders replied, “That’s right and we condemn that.”
Not really. Sanders is trying to say that, “Sure, Fidel Castro did some bad things, but does that make him a bad guy?” Sanders is dismissing the actions of a brutal dictator because he had some socialist policies. Well duh, he was a communist and he ruled over a communist country.
Also, Fidel Castro didn’t “come into office” as Sanders said, he lead a bloody revolution and killed his way into power. As Sanders tells it, Fidel was elected by the people because they loved his literacy program and that’s not even close to reality.
Bernie further tried to justify his Fidel fanboyism by making it seem like President Trump is the real commie lover.
“Unlike Donald Trump, let’s be clear, you want to— I do not think that Kim Jong-un is a ‘good friend.’ I don’t trade love letters with a murdering dictator,” said Sanders.
President Trump doesn’t trade love letters with murdering dictators either and he certainly doesn’t praise communist despots.
Making this even dumber, later in the interview Cooper asked if Sanders were elected president, would he meet with Kim Jong Un.
“Yeah,” replied Sanders. “I do not have a problem with sitting down with adversaries all over the world.”
So President Trump meets with Kim Jong Un and he’s in love with a murderous dictator, but if Sanders was president he would meet with the North Korean leader and it’d be totally cool. This is what’s known as being completely full of shit.
And Bernie is what’s known as a communist. He is calling for a revolution to overthrow our capitalist society. He wants to take from the rich and give to the workers. He wants to nationalize industries to give people “free” stuff. He thinks Fidel Castro is a neat guy. That’s called being a communist no matter how he tries to spin it.
