DNC Chairman Tom Perez has denied that the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee would be canceled and moved online due to the coronavirus panic.
In an interview that is scheduled to air Sunday on HBO, Perez shot down the idea that he would call off what may be an embarrassing and contentious event that may be the target of protests by angry Bernie Sanders supporters.
Now that the DNC has pulled off a stunning shock and awe operation to destroy Sanders’ campaign and handed the nomination to doddering former Vice President Joe Biden, it is of paramount importance to minimize any potential threats to his candidacy.
One would be if the 77-year-old Biden who is exhibiting signs of dementia on a regular basis from imploding on national television during his acceptance speech.
The other would be Bernie’s young communists following through on threats to burn down Milwaukee if he was cheated out of the nomination again.
Perez’s denial was made during a chat with “Axios on HBO,” another network forum for DNC propaganda.

Via The Hill, “DNC chair says summer convention will continue despite coronavirus concerns”:
Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez said Tuesday that the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee is still set to take place despite the recent coronavirus outbreak.
“I don’t think the Democratic convention in jeopardy,” Perez told NPR on Tuesday. “I met with some folks today, and I’m confident we can put that on.”
The convention is set for July 13 through July 16.
Perez’s comments come as cases of the coronavirus have increased in the United States and around the world. Recent data compiled from Johns Hopkins University showed that there are now almost 1,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the U.S. across 30 different states.
Fears of the spreading disease have led to a large number of event cancellations, including concerts, campaign rallies and sports games. Other events, such as the next Democratic debate hosted by CNN, will take place without an audience.
Perez told the outlet he has been in contact with local and state officials to ensure the convention currently planned is safe. The Democratic chairman also expressed confidence the party would be unified behind the eventual nominee by that point.
The interview was done before the media-generated national hysteria over the virus led to the NCAA men’s college basketball tournament banning fans and the NBA calling of its games altogether.
Some may point out that the coronavirus has been a political windfall for a party that was in serious trouble after their impeachment of President Trump went down in flames and their leading candidate was in big-time trouble.
Not only has the virus galvanized Democrats against Trump but has set the conditions for the president to be forced to cancel his own rallies due to public health concerns.
With the possibility that the convention could get ugly if Bernie’s supporters stage a revolt, it also provides a convenient excuse for the event to be called off and done via an online town hall when the panic intensifies once more widespread testing provides the media with more victims.
