For the first 4 phases of coronavirus spending packages, Congressional democrats dragged their asses, tried to insert silly socialist policies, and flipped two middle fingers to the American people, delaying much-need relief for people forced into poverty. Keep in mind, the first 4 phases were bipartisan bills. Now for round 5, the democrats are going it alone and have come up with a $3 trillion dollar coronavirus relief spending package that includes such vital provisions like limiting President Trump’s authority and hooking black people up with marijuana businesses. What does this have to do with coronavirus relief? Ask Nancy Pelosi.
The Hill reports:
House Democrats unveiled an 1,815-page, $3 trillion coronavirus relief package on Tuesday that includes a grab bag of Democratic priorities and is intended to put pressure on Republicans to start negotiations on help for workers and local governments.
There probably won’t be that much pressure on Republicans to negotiate considering how much stupid-ass crap is in this joke piece of legislation:
It also includes a provision to prevent checks and related notices from including the names of the president, Cabinet members or other elected officials, in response to the administration putting Trump’s name on the first round of checks and notices of payment.
Trump’s name didn’t appear on the first round of coronavirus checks, but they wouldn’t be democrats if they knew what they were talking about or actually passed legislation that addressed a real problem.
And it would restrict Trump’s ability to dismiss inspectors general by only allowing them to be removed for specific reasons such as neglect of duty, knowingly violating laws, abuse of authority or a felony conviction.
So a coronavirus relief package includes a provision that the President of the United States cannot make personnel decisions in the Executive Branch? That sounds a wee bit unconstitutional as well as a major violation of the separation of powers. And yet, democrats insist that President Trump is the one exceeding his authority.
The bill also has plenty of money for stupid bullshit that has nothing to do with relieving the financial suffering of people democrats won’t let go back to work:
They’ve allocated $10 million more for the National Endowment for the Arts to provide relief grants for state and regional arts organizations, and an additional $10 million for National Endowment for the Humanities grants.
And democrats want to waste a lot of money finding out why pollution is so damn racist:
It’s been long established that poorer, minority communities also tend to be more polluted than wealthier regions of the country. With the arrival of the coronavirus — and revelations that African Americans have suffered disproportionately from COVID-19 — Democrats want to examine the potential link between the disease and pollution exposure.
Their latest bill would do just that, providing $50 million to the Environmental Protection Agency to fund environment justice grants, part of which would go to examine the prevalence of coronavirus in high-pollution districts.
Speaking of black people inhaling too much smoke, the bill would also allocate resources to minority-owned legal marijuana businesses. It’s unclear how much money that would be, but there are a ton of regulations forcing banks to loan money to black weed businesses and a racial quota system for granting licenses to minorities.
Even crazier, the word “cannabis” appears in this bill 68 times:
Whatever you think about this bill, it’s absolutely insane that a coronavirus relief package has 68 mentions of cannabis.
This bill proves what we’ve known all along: democrats are not serious people. If they wanted to actually help Americans who are suffering from the coronavirus and the terrible, mostly-democratic, policies crushing the economy, they wouldn’t be f*cking around with the garbage in this bill.
