Move over Elizabeth Warren, the new generation of democrats has a progressive form of cultural appropriation. Unlike Warren who lied she had a certain ethnic ancestry, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is straight up claiming she’s black. Because she’s a socialist, she didn’t just steal blackness for herself, but all Latinos. This also means all of the guilty white liberal concessions to Black Lives Matter lately will have to be shared with tens of millions of Latinos in this country. Black people must be thrilled by this.
AOC did a Facebook interview with some Latino outfit, but for some reason it has been locked down. Actually there’s a pretty good reason and conservative commentator Tom Elliott shows us why:
.@AOC: “Latinos are black … We have to have conversations around ‘colorism,’ and we have to have conversations around the African and indigenous roots from which we come and how that’s reflected in systems of power.” pic.twitter.com/ki1lDDNhKS

“You talk about race. What do you think the Latinx community can do to stop racism among them and among other races,” asked the interviewer.
AOC was just asked what Latinos can do to stop themselves from being racist. Her answer was probably not what the interviewer was expecting:
“The first thing that is so important is for us to talk about racism within our community and how we fit both, how we are both impacted by racism in the United States and across the globe and also how it exists in own communities,” started Ocasio-Cortez.
She says that the best way to stop Latinos from being racist is to acknowledge that Latinos are the victims of racism. That’s a bad answer but she wouldn’t be AOC if she couldn’t make it worse:
“I’ll hear people say, ‘Okay, this is about Black lIves Matter, what about Latinos?’ and I always say, ‘Latinos are black,’” said Ocasio-Cortez with a laugh.
But she wasn’t kidding.
“We are Afro-Latina and we run the entire racial spectrum and so we have to have conversations around colorism and we have to have conversations around the African and indigenous roots from which we come and how that’s reflected in systems of power,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed.
World salad aside, AOC is saying that Latinos are black and that it’s racist for black people to not acknowledge that because of their decidedly non-black lighter skin.
On top of being offensive and racist, AOC’s statement is also a lie. Just last year in an MSNBC interview she said she wasn’t black:
“My identity is the descendant of many different identities. I am the descendant of African slaves. I am the descendant of Indigenous people. I am the descendant of Spanish colonizers… I am a descendant of all sorts of folks. That doesn’t mean I’m Black, that doesn’t mean I’m Native, but I can tell the story of my ancestors,” said Ocasio-Cortez.
So between last year and this year, AOC has become black. I wonder how that happened.
My guess is that since the George Floyd riots, the liberal media and democrats have been paying way too much attention to black people and AOC wanted in on the action. She’s a needy little thing and it’s been killing her that nobody has been paying her much mind lately.
The great thing about this is, she won’t face any criticism for hijacking blackness for her own selfish needs because she’s liberal Latina woman, which is a triple layer of protection against being accused of racism. Now if Republican Senator Ted Cruz, also a Latino, said Latinos are black, it would be the most racism thing since whatever President Trump tweeted last night.
