Obama should be pissed off at Trump for dismantling his executive order legacy in under 2 years, but what really has the former president furious is how the current President refers to the coronavirus. Obama is reportedly shocked and pissed that Trump occasionally calls it the “kung flu.” Obama thinks this is racist but has no problem endorsing his former VP Joe Biden, who once commented on what a clean and articulate black guy Obama is. Racism is apparently highly subjective when you’re a democrat.
The New York Times reports:
On Thursday, during an invitation-only Zoom fund-raiser, Mr. Obama expressed outrage at the president’s use of “kung flu” and “China virus” to describe the coronavirus. “I don’t want a country in which the president of the United States is actively trying to promote anti-Asian sentiment and thinks it’s funny. I don’t want that. That still shocks and pisses me off,” Mr. Obama said, according to a transcript of his remarks provided by a participant in the event.
If Obama doesn’t want a president making anti-Asian jokes, why would he endorse Joe Biden for president?
“You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Doughnuts unless you have a slight Indian accent,” said Biden with a chuckle.
India is part of Asia, Biden mocked people from India, and he thought it was funny. Obama might have to rethink his endorsement of his former VP or he might come off looking like a massive hypocrite.
Speaking of being a massive hypocrite, the Obama administration actually used the term “Kung Flu” as Fox News reports:
Two federally-run Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals during the Obama administration used the term “Kung Flu” in official materials, along with imagery of a monkey in a karate suit and a ninja wearing a flu mask…
In 2015, the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System’s official website urged patients to “Become a Kung Flu Fighter! Get Your Flu Shot!”
Also in 2015, the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center sent a mailer to patients reading: “Kung Flu — Knock it out before it knocks YOU out!”
The text is accompanied by a cartoon monkey in a karate outfit apparently kicking a virus molecule senseless.
As per liberal rules, both of these things are terribly racist, but that second one with the monkey achieves double-racism status.
The problem Obama has, well one of them anyway, is that both he and the democrats have done so many awful things that there isn’t anything he can rage against Trump which his side isn’t also guilty of. On the plus side, the liberal media is also on his side so they will never call out his bullshit, no matter how much it lacks in self-awareness.
