I guess everything that is racist has been catalogued because liberals are moving on to things that look racist to cancel. Actually, that that’s not entirely true: liberals are trying to cancel things they think look racist but don’t. In Michigan, lefties have forced a bed and breakfast to remove a Norwegian flag because they think it looks like a Confederate Flag. When all you have is racial grievance, everything looks like racism.
WIIX 10 brings us this latest shameful thing:
Bed and breakfast Nordic Pineapple in Saint Johns has removed their Norwegian flag after dozens of people confuse it for the Confederate flag.
Greg and Kjersten Offbecker moved into the historic mansion two years ago and turned it into a bed and breakfast. As decoration, they hung a Norwegian flag next to the American flag at the front entrance of the inn, but dozens of guests and people driving by have accused the couple of flying a Confederate flag.
Some people are even convinced the home was built by Confederate leaders. In fact, it was built by union workers for the daughter of the Saint Johns founder.
Why would a house built by Confederates be in Lansing, Michigan? I should top trying to make sense of liberal idiocy. Speaking of which:
Offbecker said she was trying to represent her heritage, but it’s not worth the frustration. She said they have received cruel emails and phone calls over the confusion of the flag.
“What we’re getting is so much more negative now. It’s not just, ‘hey you’re flying the Confederate flag.’ It’s, ‘you should be ashamed to fly the Confederate flag. You’re a bigot because you fly the Confederate flag,’” said Offbecker.
Offbecker even offered a free lesson in looking at and interpreting things:
“They are the same color, but there are no stars on the Norwegian flag, and the Confederate flag is a big ‘x’ and the Norwegian flag is part of the Nordic countries, they’re all crosses,” said Offbecker.
There’s no reasoning with unreasonable people so Offbecker took the flag down.
Last week, the couple decided to remove the flag as they were updating their marketing materials.
“We started to have this concern that it was deterring people away from coming to our bed and breakfast. That they would see it and make this judgement,” Offbecker said.
In related news, The New York Times thinks the NYC Seal is racist because they don’t know what things are either:

This what the NYT thinks they are seeing in the seal:
It features a Native American in a breechcloth and an early American settler holding a long rope with what appears to be a loop on its end, and for more than a century, it has served as the official seal of New York City — but perhaps not for much longer.
Get it? The NYT times thinks the “settler” is holding a noose, which is obviously racist. Even if they don’t know that’s a sailor holding a plummet, which is used for measuring depth, how in the hell does that thing look like a noose? Is that tiny thing for lynching gerbils? I could see if PETA was upset, but this is just silly.
Escalating the liberal hysteria to the level of accusing things that look like racist things is risky move. Where do they go from there? Are they going to start freaking out on stuff that smells racist?
