California is experiencing a massive heatwave and there are rolling blackouts because the state doesn’t have enough energy to meet the demand. In the funniest thing of the week, Governor Gavin Newsom is actually blaming this problem on the fact that the state has transitioned away from fossil fuels. Apparently “renewable” energy isn’t all that renewable and kind of sucks in terms of reliability. This is not a ringing endorsement for the socialist Green New Deal democrats are pushing but then again there’s not a lot of support that the socialism part works either.

Up to 3.3 million homes in California may lose power Monday as part of rolling blackouts to ease pressure on the state’s electric grid as a dayslong heat wave engulfing the West Coast creates an energy shortage, according to the operator of the grid.
The California Independent System Operator says it will likely order utility companies to turn off power starting around 4 p.m. as demand for electricity to cool homes soars during the hottest part of the day beyond the power available in the grid.
California ISO CEO and President Steve Berberich said the state is short about 4,400 megawatts, which equates to about 3.3 million homes, and those affected can expect to lose power for about two hours. He didn’t say where the outages might occur, which are up to the state’s utilities.
Starting last Friday, there have been rolling blackouts in California for the first time in 20 years, when Gray Davis was governor. For those of you who remember, Davis was recalled and replaced with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Current Governor Gavin Newsom doesn’t want the same fate so he’s pretending like he’s just as shocked as everyone else.
“I am not pleased with what’s happened. You shouldn’t be pleased with the moment that we’re in in the state of California,” said Newsom.
Newsom is demanding an investigation of some sort because he seriously doesn’t want people to blame him.
“These blackouts, which occurred without prior warning or enough time for preparation, are unacceptable and unbefitting of the nation’s largest and most innovative state. This cannot stand. California residents and businesses deserve better from their government,” Newsom said.

“Today we are anticipating substantially greater need for energy,” @GavinNewsom says, about 4,400 megawatts short of what the state needs. That’s a ten times greater shortfall than Saturday. “We failed to predict and plan these shortages and that’s simply unacceptable,” he says.

Newsom says the transition away from fossil fuels has left California with a gap in the reliability of its energy system. He says the state must examine its reliance on solar power and how that fits into its broader energy portfolio.

Ha ha ha. Newsom didn’t even mention that the state has also shut down its nuclear power plants, the cleanest source of renewable energy known to mankind. And he failed to point out that because of his coronavirus lockdown orders, half the people are stuck at home instead of being at work or school, creating an unusually high demand for power in private homes.
So there you have it from the “most innovative state” in the country: green energy is bullshit. Democrats claim they believe in science and this is irrefutable data for them to chew on.
As you know, Def-Con News world headquarters is located in California but I can laugh about this because I live in a city with its own fossil fuel burning power plant and am not subject to these rolling blackouts.
Maybe all of these millions of people marinating in their own sweat because democrats transitioned to green power will rethink their support for the liberal morons who have ruined California. Sooner or later shitty democratic governance has to turn off even the most braindead of the uninformed voters.
