Here’s Biden’s Press Secretary Jen Psaki A Wearing Communist Hat

Joe Biden has picked Obama’s former communications director, Jen Psaki, to be his press secretary in the unlikely event that he is the next president. After 4 years of screaming “Russia, Russia, Russia!” the liberal media might want to take a look at this picture of Psaki cozying up to Russia’s chief propagandist while wearing a pink communist hammer and sickle hat. Then again, maybe they don’t care since she’s a democrat.

This is a picture from 2014 that the liberal media memory-holed while they were falsely accusing Trump of colluding with the Russians:

In that picture you can see Psaki snuggling with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, with then-Secretary of State John Kerry dorking it up to the side. Psaki is wearing a pink hat bearing a hammer and sickle, the emblem of the communist USSR regime.

USA Today, which spent 4 years running context-free nonsense to support the lie that President Trump was in cahoots with the Russians, says this picture of Psaki sporting a commie hat is no big deal because it lacks context.

The first reason why this is no big deal, according to USA Today is because John Kerry is a shitty gift-giver:

At the meeting, the delegations exchanged somewhat unusual gifts — like the “two sizable Idaho potatoes” that Kerry brought for Lavrov.

In return, Lavrov had a gift for Psaki: the pink hat she’s wearing in the photo.

John Kerry was at the time the Secretary of State and Psaki was simply a State Department spokesperson. If there was a gift exchange, it would have been between Kerry and his Russian counterpart. The idea that Psaki got a gift in exchange for one that Kerry brought, sounds like a load of crap. Also, he gave them 2 potatoes? What a dick.

The second reason USA Today says this is a nothing burger is because Psaki claims she didn’t accept the gift:

A source familiar with the exchange told USA TODAY that Psaki did not keep the hat.

But she did wear it in a photo, so there’s that.

Based on these two obvious lies, USA Today says the unedited picture lacks context:

Our ruling: Missing context

Jen Psaki, recently named White House press secretary for President-elect Joe Biden, is seen in a 2014 photo posing with the Russian foreign minister and his spokesperson, along with then-Secretary of State John Kerry. She is wearing a pink hat with a hammer and sickle emblem, which was a gift from the Russians that she returned. At the time, Psaki was spokesperson for the U.S. State Department. The image is real, but claims that the hat was anything more a gift or that Psaki was with Russian officials in any capacity beyond her official role are MISSING CONTEXT.

Actually, USA Today is correct in that there is some missing context here. Right after this picture was taken, Russia invaded Ukraine and annexed the Crimea. Also, Sergei Lavrov is the guy former Trump National Security Advisor Micheal Flynn talked to that got him arrested, set off the fake story that the President was conspiring with the Russians, and was used as a pretext by the Obama administration to spy on the Trump campaign. See, context matters.

For her part, Psaki claims she was tricked into wearing the hat:

Psaki is saying that Hillary Clinton was not a target of Russian propaganda, which blows away Hillary’s entire argument that she won the 2106 election. Psaki then claims she is the victim of Russian propaganda and describes herself as a powerful messenger. Finally, she says anyone who shares the photo of her in a pink commie hat is a Russian propagandist.

That is an insane amount of bullshit for one tweet, but should we expect anything less from someone Joe Biden picked to be his press secretary?
