There’s Substantially Less Outrage When Cops Shoot An Unarmed White Man

When police defend their lives against an armed black criminal with deadly force, the result is usually the local Target is getting looted in the name of racial justice. When cops shoot an unarmed white man, as they did recently in Phoenix, there is substantially less outrage and all the local big box stores are safe. Is it true that white lives don’t matter?

Here’s something that happened on December 28, that never resulted in riots, looting, or arson:

Phoenix PD received a call from a woman who said her ex-boyfreind was harassing her. When they arrived, they found 30-year-old Jordan Crawford holding his arm behind his back.

“What’s behind your back, dude?” asked an officer.

“It’s a gun,” Crawford said.

“You have a gun?” asked the officer.

“You want to see?” Crawford replied.

The officers followed Crawford, demanding that he show his hands and give up, but the man refused. Eventually he stopped in front of a wall.

“Jordan we don’t want to kill you dude!” begged one officer.

“OK, who’s going to kill someone tonight?! You decide!” Crawford screamed.

Crawford then began to count down from 5. When he reached “1” he pulled his hand quickly out of his jacket and pointed at the officers, who dropped him with a barrage of gunfire. Officers went to his body and searched for a weapon.

“I don’t see any guns. I don’t have anything there,” said an officer.

Obviously Crawford wanted to commit “suicide by cop” and he succeeded. The officers had absolutely no choice but to open fire. There’s no way they could have known the man was bluffing and if they guessed wrong, they could have been shot themselves.

But the fact remains that cops shot and killed an unarmed man. The difference between this and the police shootings of black men who were armed is that white people don’t look at this guy and think he’s a victim of police brutality. He caused his own death, 100%, the same way black thugs who attack cops with weapons are responsible for their deaths.

Had Crawford been black, there would have been a shitstorm of outrage. His family would say that he suffered from mental illness and blame the cops for not taking that into consideration before murdering him. BLM would take to the streets and demand justice in between torching cop cars and stealing flat-screen TVs. Joe Biden would tear into the cops for not shooting him in the leg. Kamala Harris would rage against the “two systems of justice” that treat black and white people differently.

I think all of this racial division and resentment in this country could be solved if black people, on occasion, could simply admit that sometimes people of their race are dumb*cks who got what they deserved.

As a white guy, I have no problem saying Jordan Crawford is responsible for his own death. He had numerous opportunities to walk away alive but chose to die. I also think it’s pretty f*cked up to put police in that situation because, contrary to liberal belief, officers don’t get off on killing people. In fact, taking a human life weighs on them forever, no matter how justified the shooting was.
