Center Stage for the Right

In his first speech leaving office Donald Trump, former president of the US takes the podium at CPAC in what is expected to be nothing less that a naked show of force.

Attention must be paid by Republicans and Democrats alike, and anyone who says they will not be paying attention to what Trump has to say is outright lying.

Even Vegas is getting in on the action.

Vegas is betting on Former President Donald Trump announcing his 2024 election bid during his highly-anticipated speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday.

This afternoon is one thing for Trump. The question is, how will Trump’s performance today impact President Joe Biden going forward who, for the moment, is lurking in the wings stage left?

Betting odds are Trump’s performance today will steal the spotlight from Biden, if only temporarily. How might this happen?

Well, there is no business like show business and politics is no exception. Appearances matter.

The physical differences between the two men will not be overlooked. They are separated in age by three years and yet Biden looks old and tired and frail by comparison. Physical appearances alone suggest Trump is way ahead in mental and physical functioning.

Trump, however, does not even have to attack Biden personally on this score. This week the democrats this week have done enough of that.

Biden’s mental clarity came into question this week in a major way as Democratic lawmakers effectively let Joe Biden know that they are basically losing confidence in the leader of their nation.

On February 22nd, President Joe Biden opened his mail only to find a letter from fellow Democrats requesting that he give up his sole authority to launch a nuclear strike.

The letter was written by California Democratic Rep. Jimmy Panetta and signed by 36 Democratic lawmakers under the guise of the latest appeal to reform the command and control structure so that no single person can initiate a nuclear war.

“Past presidents have threatened to attack other countries with nuclear weapons or exhibited behavior that caused other officials to express concern about the president’s judgment.“

The words “past presidents” and their judgment capabilities may have once been aimed at Trump. Biden’s recent fumblings have some wondering, however, whether it is his judgement and mental acuity that should be called into question.

This has never been required before by any other president in history, so why would a man who supposedly got the most votes of any president in American history suddenly have his judgement so wildly called into question?  They insisted he was not senile and wouldn’t simply be a puppet of the left, yet just over a month into office, here is the letter they have signed to cripple his ability to act in a presidential capacity when in matters most critically.

This week’s airstrikes on Syria also have some worried that Biden may have pulled a cognitively compromised fumble into a war.

There is concern in Congress about whether Biden can handle Iran’s dangerous activity even as he pushes for engagement on the nuclear issue” a congressional aide said. “The moment Biden stepped foot in the Oval Office he knew that his decision to adjust relations with several Arab partners will inevitably lead to policy dilemmas,” said Bilal Saab, a Pentagon official in the Trump administration who is now a senior fellow with the Middle East Institute. “But this military strike is absolutely the first real test of his administration’s Middle East policy because it has the potential to lead to unpredictable outcomes, and they knew that.”

The media’s love fest with Biden continues to erode as his supposed dementia is exposed with details almost daily that are troubling and disturbing.

The election is over. Trump is out of office. Biden’s cognitive decline is no longer taboo. It can be discussed ad nauseam by the media now because getting Biden into office was not the primary objective of getting him elected.

Even the media overseas has begun to question whether the leader of the free world has lost it.

President Biden is out to lunch. He is in an escalating stage of cognitive decline. He is in an escalating stage of cognitive decline.

It is worrying when our strongest allies do not have confidence in the leader of the free world.

Australian commentator Cory Bernardi, a former politician, said it appears as though Biden’s mental status is declining.

“It is clear U.S. President Joe Biden is not up to the task he has been sworn in to do,” Bernardi said.

Trump by comparison will go for strength by addressing issues that illustrate the Biden administration’s failures – illegal immigration, energy policy, the closing and reopening of schools and identity politics. He will be sure to highlight Operation Warp Speed and his work to develop and distribute the Covid-19 vaccines.

“He will defend his vaccine work and be about as subtle as a two by four about it,” a senior adviser said.

Politically the fumbles continued for Biden and his administration this week.

His focus this week was a trip to Houston, the scene of a major disaster, some two weeks after the event. He was there to comfort victims of the deadly winter storm.

The US president, who made empathy the core of his election campaign, and the first lady, Jill Biden, travelled to Houston for his first trip to a major disaster site since taking office on 20 January.

This is a move that should not have been made in the aftermath of the storm but rather during.

What are Biden’s thoughts exactly about Trump going to CPAC to take center stage with a massive audience and a message just as big to send to the current administration.?

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki had this to say when confronted by a reporter asking if the president sees the former president, with a huge audience and an enormous platform, as any type of threat.

“The president’s view is that we’ve spent a whole lot of time, not we but in this briefing room, talking about President Trump over the last few years, yes for good reason, he was president, and that his view is we’re going to spend the time focusing about the American people and our objectives to help them, and our commitment to helping them,” Psaki replied.

“So, I wouldn’t say he’s thought a lot about the former president’s visit to, I was going to say performance, maybe that’s appropriate, at CPAC,” Psaki quipped.

There is talk that Biden should simply deal with Trump by ignoring him.

“The best bet is for Biden to ignore him.”

This line of reasoning could not be further from the truth and is awfully stupid. Much as the Biden administration would like it to be so, Trump is a predecessor who won’t go away and one who has a great deal to say.

As the character Tony D’Amato says in the movie Any Given Sunday “You know, when you get old, in life, things get taken from you. I mean, that’s… that’s… that’s a part of life. But you only learn that when you start losing stuff.”

Former President Trump once again has center stage to deliver a massive message in front of a huge audience. When the curtain closes on Trump at CPAC, good Ol Joe Biden may find out just how much he has begun to lose.
