A screaming headline from Reuters cries that half of all Republicans believe the “deadly Capitol insurrection” of January 6 wasn’t deadly or an insurrection. Moreover, the liberal media news service bitches that many Republicans also believe widespread voter fraud helped Joe Biden steal the 2020 election. In other words, Reuters has a problem with Republicans believing the truth and rejecting their false narrative surrounding these events.
Here’s what fake news looks like:
Half of Republicans believe false accounts of deadly U.S. Capitol riot: Reuters/Ipsos poll
Since the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies have pushed false and misleading accounts to downplay the event that left five dead and scores of others wounded. His supporters appear to have listened.
When a liberal media article starts out with a huge lie, you know the rest of it will be bullshit too. January 6 was neither deadly nor an insurrection. Five people didn’t die as a result of the events of that day, only one person was killed and she was a Trump supporter and she was killed by Capitol police and maybe that didn’t even happen.
There were certainly no police officers killed as a result of the events of January 6.
Three months after a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol to try to overturn his November election loss, about half of Republicans believe the siege was largely a non-violent protest or was the handiwork of left-wing activists “trying to make Trump look bad,” a new Reuters/Ipsos poll has found.
Well, it was largely a non-violent protest. Very few people were injured and there was hardly any property damage. Compare what happened at the Capitol to the George Floyd riots the liberal media called “mostly peaceful.” If thousands of businesses being looted and burned, hundreds of people injured, and dozens of people killed is “mostly peaceful” then a protest in which hardly anyone or anything was damaged has to be considered “super peaceful.”
Also, left-wing activists absolutely participated in the Capitol protests. Many of the major players that day were Black Lives Matter activists and Antifa terrorists. That’s a fact, not an opinion.
Six in 10 Republicans also believe the false claim put out by Trump that November’s presidential election “was stolen” from him due to widespread voter fraud, and the same proportion of Republicans think he should run again in 2024, the March 30-31 poll showed.
Again, there is ample evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election:

The shocking headline isn’t that half of all Republicans believe January 6 wasn’t a “deadly insurrection” and that the 2020 election was stolen but rather that half of Republicans believe the liberal media lies on this bullshit.
