The New Antiracism Is the Old Racism

By Victor Davis Hanson/American Greatness

The benchmarks of the Black Lives Matter and affiliated woke movements are overt racism, systemic untruth, and the hypocritical privilege of their elite architects.

That will be the future of the mass hysteria spawned last summer? No one knows.

But its destination, if unchecked, will be ethnic tensions and sectarian strife at best akin to those in Brazil and India—or at worst Lebanon, Syria, and Rwanda.

Until just a few years ago, racial differences, according to polls, were more or less receding. Intermarriage between racial groups is at historic highs.

But by 2014-2015, with the birth of Black Lives Matter, its courting by the Obama Administration, and the emergence of the electronic social media mob and cancel culture, such progress seems to have ended. We have ceased seeing race as increasingly incidental, rather than essential to who we are.

The benchmarks of the Black Lives Matter and affiliated woke movements are overt racism, systemic untruth, and the hypocritical privilege of their elite architects.

We are now well beyond the race-based set-asides of the last 50 years, predicated on the evolving concepts of proportional representation and disparate impact. These multitrillion-dollar endowed Great Society principles eventually mandated that admissions and hiring reflect the proportional ethnic and racial makeup of the population.

All that is now ossified and considered not enough. In its place is a damnation of all things “white” with a new definition of diversity as simply all those, without any other affinities, who claim to be bound proudly together by being nonwhite.

Antiracist Racism
Indeed, it is startling how abruptly our frenzied elites have renounced assimilation (a word now banned by the Biden Administration in matters related to immigration). Integration is also passé‚ at least for those not rich.

Ironies abound. Recently, in the state of Washington, something called the African American Reach and Teach Health Ministry (AARTH) adjudicated vaccination appointments on the basis of race only. I suppose if a 75-year-old indigent white widow showed up, she would be turned away on the basis of her “unearned privilege”—or the organizers say could be put on a “standby list”?

Black intellectuals now use the stereotypical language of the old Jim Crow segregationists. Some vie in an apparent contest to see which woke trailblazer can be crowned the most overt racist antiracist.

So Elie Mystal writing in the Nation lectures the country that “White people haven’t improved; I’ve just been able to limit my exposure to them.” Would Mystal like to explain the consequences for the country at large, if everyone followed his own example and “limited their exposure” to racial groups that they felt “haven’t improved”? To “improve” whites, would Mystal advise genetic reengineering or more mundane mandatory reeducation camps?

Damon Young, a senior editor of The Root and an occasional New York Times contributor, adds, “Whiteness is a public health crisis. It shortens life expediencies, it pollutes air, it constricts equilibrium, it devastates forests, it melts ice caps, it sparks (and funds) wars, it flattens dialects, it infests consciousnesses, and it kills people”

Note the telltale verb “infests.”

Substitute “Jewishness” for “whiteness,” and it would not be inflammatory to say that Young’s piece would have been normal fare for Der Stürmer circa 1935. Obviously, if whiteness is destroying all aspects of natural and human life, then what should be done about such an infestation—other than destroying the existential toxin’s source?

Almost daily we read that requiring an ID to vote, in the manner of cashing a check, getting a vaccination, or boarding a flight, is white-perpetuated Jim Crow racism. The new farm bill will not allow strapped white farmers to apply for help. The city of Oakland will not extend aid to poor whites in a new pilot program. Note in the latter case there is no pretense of “white privilege” other than in minority-majority Oakland the absurd assumption that impoverished whites there are more privileged than poor nonwhites.

The ‘Masks Forever’ Crowd Is Real. Here’s What They Want

Via True Pundit

Public health officials have supported mask wearing well beyond mass vaccination, and some advocated integrating them into post-COVID-19 life.

Most states implemented mandatory COVID-19 guidelines like restrictions on business capacities, social distancing guidelines and mask requirements.

“I think we do need a new culture of masks, at least any time not feeling well, and I think masks are in and handshakes out for the indefinite future,” former CDC official Dr. Tom Frieden said, CNBC reported.

Though it’s unclear when COVID-19 restrictions on normal gatherings and businesses will be lifted, Americans might need masks until 2022, American physician and immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci said 0n CNN in February. Fauci said American’s should expect to wear masks until “there is virtually no threat” of contracting the virus.

Sen. Rand Paul criticized recommendations from health officials, Fox News reported.

“You want to get rid of vaccine hesitancy? Tell them you can quit wearing your mask after they get the vaccine,” Paul said. “You want people to get the vaccine? Give them a reward instead of telling them that the nanny state’s going to be there for three more years and you got to wear a mask forever. People don’t want to hear it. There’s no science behind it.”

It’s unlikely Americans will wear face masks after the COVID-19 pandemic, though they may be beneficial in crowded situations or during hospital visits, Time reported.

Most cities and states implemented mask mandates after scientists favored their use, though they are not 100% effective at preventing the spread of COVID-19, Time reported. Masks effectively contained respiratory droplets helping slow the spread of the virus and other diseases.

Oregon State Occupational Safety and Health Department Administrator Michael Wood proposed indefinite social distancing and mask requirements until they’re “no longer necessary to address the effects of the pandemic in the workplace,” for the state, the AP reported last week. Virginia first implemented permanent COVID-19 guidelines for workplaces in January.

Democratic Socialists at AOC’s alma mater are still protesting for free laundry

Via Campus Reform

Members of Boston University’s Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter are doubling down on calls for free laundry services.

Campus Reform previously reported that the students began organizing for free laundry services in November. Insisting that “there is plenty of money in the budget for the university to take this burden off of its student body,” the students argued that the university ought to cover the cost of all laundry services in the interest of aiding “less affluent” students.

The group’s survey found that less than half of students paid more than $10 per month for laundry services.

At the time, a university spokesman declined to comment, since the group had not submitted a formal request for the university to consider. However, as The Daily Free Press — Boston University’s student newspaper — reports, Boston University spokesman Colin Riley told the Young Democratic Socialists that the school would “keep the request in mind as we move ahead in the future.”

He added that the students managed to meet with administrators, who said that students with financial need should seek aid from the school’s Financial Assistance Office or Dean of Students.

Nevertheless, the Young Democratic Socialists hosted a protest on March 26. Students held hand-drawn signs with slogans “Free laundry for all!” and “Free Laundry: Let’s talk about it!”

Hasbro Releases New Version Of Clue Where Mrs. White Is Always Guilty

Via The Babylon Bee

PAWTUCKET, RI—Hasbro has announced a new social justice-themed version of their popular game CLUE, in which Mrs. White will always be guilty.

“We’re thrilled to introduce this new version to the public,” said Hasbro CEO Persiville Wadsworth. “All your favorite characters will be here– Professor Plum, Mrs. Peacock, Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard– except in this brand new anti-racist edition, Mrs. White will be guilty of the murder every single time!”

“It’s never too early to teach your kids who’s really to blame for all the evil in the world,” he continued.

The game will still be played traditionally, as any one of the characters may technically be the murderer. The twist will come at the end, with a powerful anti-racist speech read by each of the players from the game booklet, after which a deep discussion will ensue about why whiteness is the real enemy.

Corporations, police departments, and elementary schools across the country are using the new game as a teaching tool.

“Here at Hasbro, we’re proud to be a part of the solution,” said Wadsworth with a smile, while dusting off a candlestick.
