According to One America News, the U.S. Department of Justice is attempting to interfere in the Maricopa County, Arizona election auditing efforts.
The civil rights division of the DOJ issued a letter to Arizona Senate President Karen Fann citing concerns of potential “non-compliance with federal laws enforced by the department.”

The letter addresses privacy concerns and claims an audit of voter history may lead to “potential intimidation of voters”:
“The first issue relates to a number of reports suggesting that the ballots, elections
systems, and election materials that are the subject of the Maricopa County audit are no
longer under the ultimate control of state and local elections officials, are not being
adequately safeguarded by contractors at an insecure facility, and are at risk of being
lost, stolen, altered, compromised or destroyed.”
Arizona GOP Chairwoman Dr. Kelli Ward issued a scathing response:
BREAKING NEWS: Democrats want US Department of Justice to interfere in audit, send federal monitors. Democrat lies may lead to DOJ legal challenge of AZ Court-approved right of AZ Senate to continue audit. “It’s nothing but a Democrat ruse. They have been trying to set a trap all along because after failing in state court, they cry out for unconstitutional, federal meddling that they hope could very possibly put an end to this audit.”
In February, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Timothy Thomason ruled that the election-related subpoenas issued by the Arizona Senate are valid and enforceable. In April, an attempt by the Arizona Democratic Party to suspend the audit was also thwarted, drawing praise from Former President Donald Trump.
The GOP-controlled Arizona Senate’s order to audit 2.1 million ballots is meant to restore trust in the state’s election system. Mainstream media sources called Arizona for Joe Biden with a margin of less than 17,000.
