Free Press? Biden White House Edits And Approves All Quotes To The Liberal Media

The liberal media tells us a free press is the only thing keeping our democracy from crumbling. They also accused former President Donald Trump of threatening the free press and democracy by calling them “fake news” when they pushed false stories. In related news, the Biden White House edits and approves all quotes from the administration to the liberal media so presumably democracy is done for.

Remember when Biden dropped an N-Bomb and nobody in the liberal media acknowledged this quote:

“I’m eager to hear, eager to hear, n*gger here next from my good friend,” said Biden.

According to Politico, this is why:

If you’ve read a quote from an administration official in a newspaper or a wire story recently, there’s a good chance that the White House communications team had an opportunity to edit it first.

That’s because the Biden White House frequently demands that interviews with administration officials be conducted on grounds known colloquially as “background with quote approval,” according to five reporters who cover the White House for outlets other than POLITICO.

In practice, that means the information from an interview can be used in the story, but in order for the person’s name to be attached to a quote, the reporter must transcribe the quotes they want and then send them to the communications team to approve, veto or edit them.

The practice allows the White House an extra measure of control as it tries to craft press coverage.

While it’s not particularly shocking that a democratic administration controls what the liberal media reports, it is kind of surprising that the liberal media is openly admitting this. This is the liberal media saying quite frankly: “Yes, we are the ministry of propaganda for the democratic party.”

In other non-shocking news with a surprising admission, it’s only when democrats are in the White House:

The Biden White House isn’t the first to employ the practice. Many reporters say it’s reminiscent of the tightly controlled Obama White House. The Trump White House used it, too.

But reporters say Trump’s team did so less frequently than Biden’s team — which also used the tactic during the campaign…

Politico claims, “a number of current White House reporters have become increasingly frustrated by what they see as its abuse” but couldn’t find any reporters who have fought back against this state media control.

Politico got a quote from The New York Times chief White House correspondent:

“So instead of transparency, suddenly, the White House realized: ‘Hey, this quote approval thing is a cool thing. We can now control what is in their stories by refusing to allow them use anything without our approval,” said Baker.

But…

Baker conceded that he’s no purist. He has agreed to quote approval before but believes reporters ought to push back more.

Doesn’t the NYT consider themselves “the paper of record”? Shouldn’t they be the ones pushing back?

The reason why there is no pushback from the NYT or any other liberal media outlet is because they work for the democrats. Their job is not to report the news, it’s to distribute democratic party propaganda. You don’t see the PR department at Amazon slamming Jeff Bezos and you don’t see the liberal media being critical of Joe Biden. It’s the same thing.
